Just got the game (complete noob) and loving it, gives me Warframe vibes in terms of enjoyment and content
I love remnant 2. Its possibly my favorite game ever or top 2 or 3 definitely
I wish it was beautiful though.
I don’t get how you could not give such a game the eye candy it deserves. Such a shame.
I wanna buy this game. Still worth in 2024?
13:24 I too "agree with this," but the reality is it doesn't answer the argument… it's just "the right awnser for our side." 😉
We believe in merit (meritocracy: you "deserve what you earn")… the people on the other side of the argument: D.E.I./ Woke/ Feminist/ Cultural Marxist, etc. Don't believe in Merit, they believe in Equity & Inclusion (from their side of the argument: having "rewards"/ content that isn't accessible to all is an "injustice.").
This "awful debate" IS the '#CultureWar' (and the "war rages on!").
I was working on a project with similar mechanics to Remnant 2 before I knew what type of game it is. I’m happy that there’s a game that exists that I can learn from
It's funny to think that almost everything you praised about this game was pioneered in the original, Remnant: From the Ashes. The secrets, the exploration, the co-op and the benefit of shared knowledge, the balanced Souls-like combat, the build variety, the multiple difficulties, it was all there (in one form or another). And From the Ashes was only $40 with no microtransactions! While Remnant II is an improved and upgraded version of the game, the predecessor also totally holds up and is entirely worth buying to play through as well; it adds a lot of context to this game (although sadly I can't quite say the same thing about the original game, Chronos: Before the Ashes, a clunky, half-baked Soulslike that made the original 2009 Demon's Souls look refined and advanced by comparison, and which you can probably skip).
As someone that quit Darksouls 1 after a couple of hours when I got back into gaming playing and beating Elden Ring has really shown me what I was missing from higher difficulty games! Even more so after beating Remnant 2
I picked this game up on the winter steam sale and I just blown away. Super addicting and I’m always finding new things after 100 hours in. I bought the full DLC pack almost right away as I want to support what the devs are doing here. Can’t wait for the next DLC to come out.
No joke, gunfire games brought me to tears with the sheer quality and love in this game. The original Remnant fought it's way into being my favourite game ever through clean and precuse design and amazing execution not even counting uniqueness. Remnant 2 so far is blowing it out of the water in most aspects (not all) and I have no doubt that when all the DLCs drop it will be the best game I have ever gotten addicted to. Hats off to the devs, they are some of the few who still know how to make an incredible game today. In an age of slop, the remnant series is a shining diamond.
@0:37 OMG, it’s like he just broke the fourth wall.
today i started the game fresh on veteran difficulty and oh boy, was not i frustrated…. right after the girl i hve just met got sucked in to a portal and my character following her with a 3 second hesitation, the game dropped me to a world similar to levels that try to pad out the playtime in other games… i think i was very unlucky with that because as a newbie, i was not aware that the worlds that the game casts you to a random as well. that purple level with flying robots and stuff was prett mediocre and i was anticipating some eyedany levels before the loot grind begins…
Anyway, i rerolled into survivior difficulty and had 5 hours of co op… it s good co op alrgiht? no text messaging no voice chat… you really stick to you set up for a while as once you move away from it, and things dont click, game becomes hard and unsatisfying altogether…
what i find amateurish are the interactions with the world… the animations are slow and stiff and they take a lot of time to finish when pushing butons, touching stones.. etc… maybe the polish these in the future who knows…
Easily top 5 games I’ve played. The gear progression is fantastic. Doesn’t feel linear like other games that power you up just because you are later into the game. Also love the way the campaign/adventure modes mesh so well together. I got roadblocked on my first apoc run so I booted up adventure mode and got some gear to help me out. The dungeons are fantastic. Blows my mind how many times you can roll a dungeon just to have a new event to spawn in or an item you never encountered appear. I love the seamless coop, which is the one thing that makes me kind of sad about Elden ring. Just an amazing game.
So here's a tip for hardcore: start as either Engineer (good defense and decent weapons), or Archon (very, very good weapon, mediocre defense), and only keep one archetype, to limit your powerlevel.
Also don't level up your melee weapon, for the same reason.
Excellent review of Remnant 2! I definitely agree with what you said about the difficulty and accessibility problem being solved with this games system. It has a unique way of pleasing both sides of the argument and I appreciate the fact that they tried to make the game available to anyone who's willing to accept a little bit of difficulty.
Me and a Buddy played this co-op since it's on Game Pass now (I'm PC and he is on Xbox) and we both had fun with this game. It certainly wasn't a 10/10 for either of us. We both landed at 7.5/10, basically it's a no brainer on GP or Steam discount for us. I can absolutely understand why it would be someone's 10/10 though and think it's worth a try for anyone interested in it.
This is one of the best games ever created. I'm so happy it's getting the attention it deserves.
Awesome video. I just ordered the game today (only £22 on uk amazon currently) and im very much looking forward to playing it tomorrow.
I was worried about the length of game but after ultimate edition came out I think it's a great value.
Good narration and points. I will say that I really think the video quality of the gameplay is not good enough. It does a disservice to the game with it being so choppy. I would be hesitant to subscribe knowing that when I watch your reviews, I'm seeing sub-standard representation of the gameplay.
Didn’t even mention the incredible music. Or the boss fights.
Edit: My Unique build is a fisticuffs build using a ring you can only get when a sleeping dude rarely wakes up in Ward 13. Tarnished Ring. There’s also the Meteorite Shard Ring, Probability Cord, Bright Steel Ring, and the Weightless Weight Amulet. Leto Mk 1 armor set, +20 Knuckle Dusters, Overdrive Mutator, and Challenger/Invader classes. Relic Fragments and Traits are your choice.
LITERALLY 10 years I've been waiting for a game this GD good to come out! – I just spent 41 hours, in two days, and other than passing out? I'd still be playing.
TY so much for such a well done, and well put together experience.
I simply cannot give it higher praise. –
10 out of 10 – EASILY. –
10/12-2023 – Aesir –
This game reminds me of why I love video games. Gunfire fucking killed it man.
I'm 180 hours in. I'm missing a few rings, relics, and 1 weapon (Savior).
230 hours+ and 95% of stuff I know about (mostly hardcore rewards) and that's doing campaign 4 tunes with 2x apocalypse completions.
Amazing game . Only problem is it’s not optimised for the ps5 it’s runs ok but some shutters every now and then also it would have been great if it took advantage of the ps5’s controllers haptic feedback .
Amazing game . Absolutely loving it . U shud review returnal on the ps5 as well
I loved Remnant 2, but that final boss is straight up B.S. 😅
"In the world where games give rewards with less amd less efforts…"
My man never played DCS
This is easily my GOTY. I am still obsessed with it, and that’s despite some serious skill issues. I just feel like the time invested is always worth it, I get that fuck yeah moment when I finally take down a boss, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. And at a AA price tag all I can say is that Gunfire are up there with Fromsoft for me now, anything these guys develop in the future I will buy without question. These guys know how to make a compelling, original and truly next Gen game!
Remnant 2 was an improvement on everything the first one did right and did it all way better. Love Remnant 2. Remnant 1 was the sleeper hit of 2019. Cant wait for the dlc.
This game is dogshit and I'm surprised that almost every point you've fluffed is misrepresented or an outright lie. Your content and opinions are usually pretty good.
9:08 😂😂😂
got 300+ hrs in the game and it is fantastic. have beaten every single difficulty and feels great. looking foward to the dlc's
Whoever said a completionist run would take 60 hours was smoking something. Because just to get two items I had to reroll two planets on adventure mode for multiple hours. At least 6 hours for each and easily a hundred rerolls.
Ive rerolled three times and cant beat bloat king , shrewd, or the guardian in losomme
I’m still playing the game, though I started mid August. I hope the dlcs will be awesome
I just like joining peoples games in Adventure mode and I havnt even beaten the game yet and I have 36 hours in already.
I think they did a great job in this game. Even the multiplayer aspect of the game is unique and impressive. I find myself really enjoying the mechanics.
