I love my 37 pound standard poodle. No hair everywhere and I have a very smart dog who loves to walk with me.

My moms dog helped her to live longer. My mom recovered quicker from hip surgery because she wanted to walk her dog. She walked him several times a day even when she got sick. She walked him using her walker and he walked along beside her slowly and he stopped when she stopped. He was a mix breed. He never barked, and he loved my mom so much. I believe my mom lived longer because of him. Rip mom.
My absolute favorite small and adorable dog is a Malshi or Mal-Shi (mix of Maltese & Shih-tzu). These dogs are hypoallergenic, don't shed much, playful personality, good with small children through seniors. Easy to take care of, very loving, gentle, and just plain sweet!
Some shelters won’t allow you to adopt if you’re over 65. I’m 67 and that’s too old to adopt in New York, my aunt in Vermont and another aunt in Connecticut.
I suppose different strokes for different folks. As an old guy, 62, I loved my chocolate lab I lost a month ago. I also love my1 year old 100 lb Huskador that my daughters gave me 3 weeks ago.

I tried to adopt a dog. It would have been easier to adopt a human baby. The shelter wanted to inspect the property, told us we needed a fenced yard (we rent), wanted our financials and Hubby said NUTZ! After some very serious ailments the city I live in said they'll give me a free service dog. When I get her I'll try my best to get a video up.

How could you forget the adorable Cotton de Tulear? These 8-12 lb dogs have hair that feels like cotton, hence the name. They are very attached to their owners and suffer seraration anxiety if left too long. They are smart and love to please their owners. They are usually white with black eyes and nose and are cousins to the Bichon😮 Frisse and look like a stuffed animal. Other colors are black and white party and black white and brown party.
We have a Coton du Tulear from Madagascar. She doesn’t grow beyond 10-11lbs, big cuddler loves to walk and us so obedient. Excellent for seniors .
