I adopted male and female littermates in January, 2009. I lost the female last September, when she was 15-1/2. Her brother went into terrible mourning, and even now, he’s very lonely without her. The brother, Smudgie, may be my last cat…the pain of loss is getting to be too much for me.
Do you have any tips for helping a six year old cat that was bonded but lost his sister?
I have 7 month old kitten siblings and seperated them, the male was aggressive to his sister
I have a mom and her 3 babies , I rescued the mom unknowing that she was pregnant well she gave birth that night of me finding her and kittens are so precious but it’s costly and I don’t want to separate anyone but like I said it’s expensive I’m looking to rehome 2 of the kittens w the mom they are cow like coated and very gentle sweet girls it hurts me thinking of this but I have to or else I’ll be broke as a joke
My sister and I used to love together and we adopted 2 brothers kittens (related). We had them for a year so they are 1yr old and they've never separated and are bonded. But my sis recently moved away (not far) and we had to separate them as Iam emotionally attached to my bb as my sis is to hers. I can visit her sometimes with my cat but Iam worried if our cats will be ok.
My dad sold 2 bonded cats separately for free one to my friend and the cats loved eachother 1 sister 1 brother they wrestled slept together and when we gave to my dad friend the one that we kept cant sleep alone we put it to bed and it meow meow it we free it it came to my room and sleep on my bed this was 1 night ago its last night and i look at its pictures snd memorys and i cry its sad thdy grew ate sleep yogether and the other one we sold they where 2 chubby men and 1 tall they drove long for this free cat aswell its kinda sus what about if they hurt the cat 😢i dont know what to do and the cat free so they not lose any money and drive here 😢😢it hurts watching them seperate we put it into cage and it meow meow 😔🤲pls pray that the cat will not be harmed i wish i could die than send it away 😔💀
I would regard the separation of bonded companion animals as cruelty. I'm very much hoping to adopt a bonded pair of cats from my local shelter soon
Two male 2week old kittens were abandoned at my doorstep…. Flash forward- they’re about 6-7 weeks now. A friend would like to have one of them. When is it appropriate to separate them ? Will they be traumatized?
My friend used to adopt bonded pairs and separate them because he said they had to learn
I was lucky to adopt my ginger tabby brother and sister as kittens. They are almost 2 years old now and inseparable. When I have to take one to the vet the other stays home he or she cries and wanders the house looking for the other. I can’t imagine separating them, ever.
A friend of mine had a cat who had a litter of 3 kittens. They were bottle fed. When she brought them over for us to see them (Someone adopted them that day) they were inseparable. I was holding one of the girl kittens and Someone else was holding her other 2 siblings so she hopped from my lap into hers. I told the gal who was adopting all 3 I was glad she was taking all 3 of them because they were inseparable. They were very friendly. In fact the boy slept in my arms for 20 minutes before I had to get up
Miss Patches is VERY bonded to her kids. Mr Blacky has kind of gone off on hiss own, but, he bonded with Miss Spots until she was finally fixed, then he has since bonded with Mr Tabby the Feral House Cat. Hiss brother, Mr Tiger and sister, Miss Booties, however, have not and are very bonded with their mum, especially Miss Booties.
I have two boys on my porch that are very close and sleep together for warmth. Sunny D and Skittles I am trying to rescue them. I love them so much but can’t bring them in the house as I have a cat and three dogs and they are feral. We are try to train them and get vet care for them we built a shelter. This is hard but we love them very much. Even my chickens are getting along with them they are so sweet.❤
I was the 3rd (and hopefully final!) home for my bonded siblings, Suzy and Woosi. A couple of students had them the first year, then an American expat had them for 3. He was getting desperate as his time to leave Korea was ending, and so happy I could take both. They’ve been with me over 5 years now. They do everything together.
Does cats know there name
Fun fact that where it matters most animal welfare Brits come 3rd American fools don't even make the top 30
We took on two bonded kittens, but now, at 2 and a half, they fight and hiss at each other. Mx 🙁
I’ve adopted recently two bonded kittens. They cannot be separated at all for only a few minutes. However, they are both extremely loving.❤
Even as my babies get older, when one reaches the end of its life. The looks I get for not bringing them back is heartbreaking. The pack is bonded, they love each other. Thanks for the info. Love your channel!🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛
Two years ago my bachelor brother adopted 3 male kittens who were misplaced by their mother. He dutifully bottled fed them and kept them together while he had a career change. All of 4 of them seem to be thriving in a new environment 😊
Excellent video.
My girl of 6 years that passed away on Christmas day was bonded to my big male black and white kitty he has been lost without her they did everything together so him and i are commiserating together ! I miss my baby R.I.P. Shelby
Thanks for sharing 🐾❣
Take care
Jack was 15, Boone was 7. They had 5 years together as a bonded pair when Boone passed suddenly a year ago. I think Jack is just coming out of his funk.
My cat had kittens 3 bonded they couldn’t be separated so we kept the 3 now I have 6 beautiful cats. They all play together and have a lot of fun. So I say don’t separate unless it’s really necessary. Please keep them together you will be happy too.
I rescued brothers and am so glad I did. They play all the time and sleep together. I have 4 cats and they are all bonded. When my oldest passed away it was hard on all of them and me too
My cats hated each other at first, but I think they value each other’s company and feel safe with each other now.
My little mama cat is missing her kittens, finally given away late, and missing not-the-mama, who was not a fan of the kittens. Little mama has been meowing whenever I leave the room and much greeting when I return, 10 days now. I wish I could explain it to her. I'm giving her extra attention.
❤The power of the cat bond is forceful and meaningful. We agree with you and want happiness for all kitties!!
Thank you to you and this channel for encouraging people to do their part to love all creatures and to value relationships and life. This, in my opinion, makes our world a better place!❤ purrrrr!
