So for the Pal Expedition placement, only the entrance to the cave itself needs to be within the base border.
The back half can sit outside the base with no problems.
I put mine with the back half into matching terrain so it didn't look so jarring.
The Pal Labor Research Station applies buffs to your pals across the board. So, by researching Handiwork Tier 1 upgrade, every single pal you own that can do handiwork will do it faster. Etc. etc. with the other work suitabilities. They have also locked some technology from the Technology tree behind research tasks, but if you already had that technology unlocked then you don't have to worry about it.

i recommend moving your oil base a little south west of where you have the 2 stars near the jetragon boss, it has 3 nodes and you can get 2 rigs on each spot, making sure to you orserk and the pylon boost, i have 6 rigs in my oil base, the cords are -851 -455 also do the lumbering research for the expedition rewards boosts
theres no way they playtested the new katana and beam sword and actually thought they were good weapons. They can keep it as a drawing charge weapon but make it attack right infront of you instead of a lunge that doesnt even lock on or stop when you hit something. A lot like the heavy attack animations for long swords in warframe would be perfect

there even harder oil rig with 60 to 65 level of enemies new metal pall boss. build for this one new base you can now adjust how many basses you can build i sugest 5-10 bases more becuse how many new buildings they add. good splaterina can have 5 handiwork make things yesterday. if want level 4 handiwork skill you need anubis or splaterina to this the palls use this machine.

What I do is not use the expedition thing since it's too big. I just regularly kill the bounties when roaming around then buy manuscripts from the bounty police in towns. It's 1 ticket to 3 manuscripts I think.

as a crafter, turning weight to 0 was a huge QoL change.
That, "Meowmere," would irritate the ever living F out of me. There are some weapons, no matter their damage, the irritation of them do not make them worthwhile. Borderlands franchise is famous for such.
