3:35 this was a really good learning experience for the rescuer. Just about all domesticated animals are social, it often helps them to interact with others of their own species.
I lived in Kuwait for almost two years… Never saw a place with so many stray cats! Normally they are very friendly… I rescued two cats in that time. One went to my home in Portugal and the other went to a friend's home in India.
You did a great action! Normally they won't survive more than 4-5 years in the streets. Its a very hard environment where temperatures can rise to 55°C in summer.

I have an affinity to cats, and they seem to be attracted to me because of it. Cats are a big part of my life, as I never married, and do not have children. So My cats are my babies. I love them a lot, and they love me a lot too. McCartney is a grey tabby that came to me as a stray. He met me twice before he followed me home. When he found where I lived at the time, he begged to be taken in. As he was such a little gentleman, treating my 14 year old Cookie Baby like a lady.
Cookie Baby is a Brennel Calico and is fiercely loyal to me. She is my best friend even. And when McCartney treated her like a lady, I was totally amazed. He still does so to this day. For a 14 year old cat, she is still pretty spry, liking it when I play with her.
I have one more cat that is not yet a year old, a tuxedo that is mostly white, with small patches of black on her head and her legs only. Her name is Patience, because the patch on her head looks like the cowl worn by Halle Berry in Catwoman. She was a bit rough when playing, but now she has calmed down a good bit. She has become addicted to being cuddled. I have no problem with that.
That’s what we humans should do with each other just be friendly to whoever you meet

This was my experience. Dolly was feral. Muffin was a house cat. I didn’t try to pet Dolly but she saw Muffin getting petted and soon I found her sleeping at my feet. She lived twenty years more and she was the most gentle cat I ever knew (unless you were a mouse, of course)

I wonder how it is to the theory that cats treat humans like other (but larger and different) cats, not like other species. So it's interesting that he opened up when he saw another feline (and I saw other similar examples). But maybe it's like kid who sees another kid and of course their relation is different than with adults 🤔
Oh, I loved this so much! I've had a couple of fosters like Grey…and it was definitely a slow, steady process to gain trust. Incidentally, both of those challenging fosters also ended up flourishing when they met what turned out to be their "kitty soul mates"…and it was among my top most wonderful things to watch. Of course, when it came time to find their (always fervently hoped-for) forever homes, they were adopted out as bonded pairs.
