2024: this game is abandoned, and judging by the steam reviews, none of the game's issues and drawbacks have ever been addressed or fixed. Instead the devs released a bunch of DLC and then disappeared. It's become another of many games that's almost there, but not quite, because the devs got bored or gave up, and moved on to other projects before they were done
I just got this for my personal computer, having loved Sim Tower on my Power PC and a friends Micron in the 1990’s. This game is perfect! Total nostalgia and calming and feels like I’m in a 90’s business commercial

I wanted to like this game but it's a whole lot of waiting. Build something, wait a few days (even "fast" time speed isn't that fast) to make enough money to build more, make sure what you build isn't within range of another type that isn't compatible with it due to smells, noise, etc, and the cycle continues.

I agree with the last sentence … Far too few sim tower like gmaes.
Only aspect about this game I don't like is the fact that it's 2d. I'm not talking about graphs being realistic and all, 2d just does not feel real, there are no skyscrapers like this in the real world.
Everybody always trashes the elevators in sim tower but I LOVED them, the elevators in project highrise are just boring to me, there's no strategy to floor layouts at all without simulating car movements.

One of the few Purchases I regret… I should've bought a boxxed Copy instead! Project Highrise is great and I sped several 100 hrs… There're Mods that make more Sim/Yoot Tower like, I want that. +The Devs were addressing certain issues and released a couple of DLCs. Bought 'em all! Sure, it has a hard learning curve. My 1st two Towers were completly rekt. Unfixable. But I started a new and gradually mastered it. Needless to say that the 1st Bonus I buy is always the larger Maintaince Office so that I can put Maintaince on auto. Otherwise, the Micromanagement is gettin' out of Hand.

I tried it, but it was disappointing for me, the focus was way to micromanagment than just about the tower.

Next version needs to be 3d. And the version after that needs to be in space, so you can build in literally any direction.
6:55–7:25 this is just realistic. E.g. most people don't know how much decibel have to be exceeded so that they feel disturbed by noise. Also I guess it makes the game more interesting if you have to find out these things yourself. Actually I never played SimTower for long because it was too repetitive and became boring before I reached the 10th floor as far as I remember.
I was all ready to buy the game, then I saw it has the same noise problem as Sim Tower. Now I'm going to have to research if later patches of the game fixed that before I commit to buying it.
This reminds me of how if Final Fantasy Christal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord ever makes it to Steam, I'd get it. It's a tower defense game, where you build a tower
Not gonna lie, I hate the artstyle, they all look like royalty free vector images. These games look much better if they are less detailed.

Hi. Have played Project Highrise for a year now. A lot of the concerns you had are actually in the game but it takes a while to figure it out. For example. The guy who says the line is too long? Check where he is. If it’s a particular kind of shop, it means you need more of these etc. Also, in lobbies that are two levels or more you can place wine tasting booths, car demo pop-ups and more. Love your review but suggest you might like to go back and review again. The Las Vegas add on also allows a casino and all the facilities that go with it. Thanks

before he said anything about it, I was thinking how ugly and bland this game looks, which is unfortunate because Tower sims are so rare… but despite the depth of gameplay, I couldn't get past the fact that everything is just brown and white. something about the art direction just bugs me 🙁
