There is a quite an easy case study to look at in my view in regards to listening to your audience.
That is with the Sonic movie franchise. The initial trailer was absolutely panned mainly due to Sonics' look. They listened, took feedback and are now about to release a 3rd movie in a largely successful game adaptation franchise.
The DEI is strong with this one. Neil cuckman and Naughty Dog loves his modern audience.
I am wondering why is it woke? Just becaause the main female protagonist is bald? Why wonen can't be bald? Bald women are ugly? If a women suffer from trauma or cancer, and if they shaved their hair bald then they are considered as ugly? I think you need to realise now that Naughty Dog have never given a single fuck. They have no producers, they don't work with any middle-management, they don't even communicate with Sony regulary. They just make what pleases them and hopefully people will respond to it. i say wait til we see some gameplay first before you rip into the carcuss of one cutscene and make huge assumptions about the character, the story, or the developers.
If you didn’t see a female protagonist coming, you haven’t been paying attention.
As for W4, given current times this will probably have tons of woke social drivel baked in, so this may tank hard compared to W3.

Not sold that this game is woke. There could be valid reasons that character is like that, like the galactic army shaved it, and it may even grow back throughout the game. Also just the look of a character isn't usually sign of woke, it's all the other stuff. We've always had diverse looking characters in games and it wasn't a problem.

Naughty dog game looks lame. Witcher 4 looks awesome to me. Played all 3 and read the books (show after season 1 sucks) siri looks grown up, and battle hardened, looks like her still just no make up. And she actually is a dope character. Im holding out judgement til we see more or until i play it.

Hey, I came across this video and I genuinely can't see why having a bald black woman as the protagonist in a videogame is such a big deal.
And I don't understand how you can remove "political bullshit" from anything, as I believe every decision is a political decision. Having a white male protagonist, or having a fully customizable protagonist, in my honest opinion are also political decisions, just as much as having a bald black woman.
Also, isn't it a little early to complain about the game? I mean it's the first trailer, we don't even know what is the story and why she is bald yet.

i wont judge intergalactic or witcher 4 before we know a lot more than now. One of the Endings in Witcher 3 is practically Ciri goes Witcher, she has special powers so witcher stuff can be explained in a immersive narrative way without breaking the lore. Intergalactic has awesome grafik, we dont know the gameplay yet, and if any political nonsense is in it. It plays in a scifi future with spaceships. All jumps its pure DEI etc. are to soon even when some of us think maybe its another one due to fear. Fear is the mindkiller brothers and sisters 😛
It's not just the look of the character, it's her writing and animations too. Everything about her oozes a masculinized "girlboss". Just from this we can tell the writing is going to be garbage as well.

Druckman yrs ago demonstrated his intention to make games along that line: unlikable meathead girl protagonist kills the beloved white guy protagonist of the previous game and ruins the life of the beloved lead girl of the previous game, and then the player is forced to play as that character and then play through to that garbage character being allowed to live on. It's exactly what he has in mind w his new game: a highly playable gameworld that people are likely to want to engage with despite an unlikable meathead girl protagonist highly offensive to the primary player base. It's a gamble… But he won't have my purchase…
