I was originally going to school to be a veterinarian and I fostered a lot of dogs over the years as well. Getting neutered and getting some teeth pulled… he’ll be out of it the day of surgery when you pick him up. If he gets thirsty, just give him an ice cube or a tiny bit of water to drink out of your hands at a time and no food that first night because you don’t want him to end up vomiting. Depending on the number of extractions, he may have a dental mouthwash that you have to squirt into his mouth multiple times a day. The neutering portion actually heals up pretty quickly, you just want to make sure that he doesn’t jump off and on furniture and such while he is healing because they can rip their stitches out. Basically the hardest part is trying to keep them from doing things that can pull out their stitches while they are healing. I am sure your vet will go over everything with you. Usually by a day or two after surgery, your dog will be back to their usual self. I hope the surgery goes well! 💕🙏🏼😘

Never feel bad about neutering your dog, it prevents them from. getting cancer! Males and females. It also makes them better dogs, i.e. marking. After the surgery he will possibly be a little groggy , this can sometimes scare them only because they don’t understand the “effects” of the medicine but once that wears off they are fine. Even though you are suppose to keep them quite (good luck on that one). He will look a little sad because of the cone but he won’t be about to lick the wound which is great. You’ll both do great.

Just had our sweet Yorkie pup neutered, and he wouldn’t hardly walk for 2-3 days. We were so sad for him, but just let him sleep… Don’t expect any eating or much drinking for at least 2 days. Especially since Findley is getting teeth pulled. Our Brutus is only 4.5 lbs and we were worried, but when he was ready he ate & drank. We kept it available for him. Also, the first bowel movement made him scream for just a second, and then after that he was fine. Best of luck 🙏🙏🙏

I have had my 3 dogs desexed and it was hard that they kept on knocking things over with their cones that they have to wear after. So just try and keep everything spaced out and keep his water near the kitchen and same for food and hid bed just so he doesn't travel far for all of those when he is recovering. Just try give your dog alot of attention after his surgery as they will be upset for a while as well

we got my dog bella neutered a few years ago and she ended up puking on the ride home but was back to her normal self with in 2-3 days. we got my other dog toby neutered last year and he was back to himself the same day we picked him up.
He will be ok. The younger they are, the better
God love I've got 2 babies a beagle he's a old man and a pitbull he's a not even a year old yet but they both needs to be be fixed to but we've got to get shots for both cause we don't know if either have had their shots and they can't fix them without the shots now we're trying to save up to get the shots do those ourselves cause that's cheaper then we're going to be saving for them to get fixed our poor babies plus we want to save up to get them chipped cause we just lost our 12 year old pup and saved these 2 from the pound.

Congrats on paying off the car loan. I remember when i paid everything off, i was soooo happy. One less thing to worry about. Congrats again. I remember when i had to neuter my dog years ago. Was really painful and he came back with a cone. They give u the plastic cone, so when ur dog come running to u, it bangs on ur leg and u wouldnt like it.. i got my dog a comfy cone from chewy.com so he was able to sleep peacefully. And our legs didnt hurt at all. in june, i have to get this dog spayed. Not looking fwd to that.
