I’d just read this in Hyrule Castle while playing this, and I must say, seeing that Link doesn’t express his emotions and always staying strong, Link is probably a weird character, but understandable. It really shows why he is basically the COURAGEOUS Hero. He doesn’t cry, he doesn’t whine, and he’s not always angry, he gets the work done, no matter the situation ( Unless if it’s getting all the Korok seeds in this game ). Imagine coming across people like that and then you have a big attitude on them, that just makes you look dumb, just like Zelda did. This is really a good reason why Link is so quiet all the time. I know I’m posting this even though this video came out 3 years ago, but dang, I just really enjoyed playing this game on my Wii U. I’m really inspired to play all the Zelda games I’d miss playing.

1. Now that Age of Calamity is a thing, I like to think the fortune teller that Zelda mentions who gave the prophecy is Astor.
2. I like the concept of Link purposely staying silent because he felt like he wouldn't be as strong of a hero to people if he openly showed his emotions. That's really an interesting and deep take.
3. I love the delivery of that last page of Zelda's journal. How both before and after "for no particular reason,", it pauses to give you the realization that on this specific day is where everything horrifically fell apart.
Man it is so cool how they actually give a reason to him not talking that’s believable and mysterious, it’s cool that he’s not mute. I’m glad he still hasn’t had any official voice acting dialogue yet(besides…that..) Even though I want it so bad, I know as soon as they do he’ll never quite be the same character.
Reading the diary kinda gave me the feels.

To you all saying link should have talked at the end, remember not everyone will go to this room or even see Zelda’s diary, if he talked at the end it would just be viewed as a cheap idea to make the game unique.

So now they made a canon reason why he talks. Since the reason why they don't want Link to talk insane expect for those dialogue parts is to make the player feel like they are Link

It would have been so cool if at the very end when Zelda asks Link if he remembers her, for Link to have said something like "Yes, I do." Instead Nintendo opted to have him blankly stare at her! Not even a smile! The dairy entries in the castle were so good too regarding character development. I'm not about giving Link full dialogue, but this would have been the opportune moments for it to ever happen.
