While the argument that Queen Puabi was an extraterrestrial is fun, there is no concrete evidence to support that claim. The sole piece of evidence given is that her skull was elongated, which is supposed to suggest that she was not of this world. In all reality, the fact of the matter is that her skull was in several different pieces, as shown in the video, so knowing what her skull looked like is incredibly hard to determine. In addition, several deformities that can be found today, such as hydrocephalus, can cause deformed skulls that appear larger than normal.

In the YouTube video “Ancient Aliens: EVIDENCE Queen Pubai Was an Extraterrestrial (Season 20)” the History Channel claimed that Queen Pubai was an alien, because of her elongated skull. Leonard Woolly found her tomb and years later, researcher Zechariah Siten examined the skull that was discovered within the tomb. He then claimed that she must have been an Anunnaki human hybrid. This is what led them to believe that she was an extraterrestrial. There are issues throughout this video that lead me to believe this isn’t true. While doing this excavation, they found a significant number of jewels buried with Queen Pubai’s body. This led them to believe she was an important figure. They then thought that she was an extraterrestrial, but the only “evidence” they used was the shape of her skull. That is their hypothesis, but there is nothing else that was found in the tomb that confirms this theory. There is no way to test if she’s an alien because we don’t have evidence of aliens existing. Therefore, they can’t make the claim that she’s an extraterrestrial when they don’t have any scientific evidence to back it up. This video contains fallacious arguments because the arguments that were made were insufficient. They jumped to conclusions, instead of considering other plausible reasoning. The skull argument also relates to Occam’s Razor, because instead of thinking of a more concrete hypothesis, they just assumed she was an alien because her skull is slightly different. They took the easy way out, instead of actually doing research and testing. I believe that the actual reasoning behind the shape of the skull can be found by doing more research on who Queen Pubai was and observing more of the artifacts found. After this is done, they can come up with a hypothesis. For example, some cultures use special binding to make their skull longer, so that could have been the reason for the deformity of the skull. They could then test this theory by finding evidence of other skulls like this, or maybe other leaders that had elongated skulls. This could prove that it was only a practice done by influential people in history. They could then come up with another theory.
