i’m sorry my cat is different. I feed him. I do everything with him. He loves me. I love him but out of nowhere I would be just hanging out when he comes up and starts attacking me for no reason at all and this cat is obsessed with me every room I go to he follow and I have to do an audition and I have to go downstairs. He starts meowing nonstop. He doesn’t attack anyone else and they weren’t hard bites at first but now they are.
I'm a cat-lover and have been my entire life. My long-haired, Tortoiseshell cat has been biting me since she was a baby. She's 8 years old now and I've resigned to the fact that she will never stop. It happens for numerous reason. Too much petting, not enough petting, or quitting petting too soon for her taste. Then there is the out-of-the-blue attack mode on the ankles for no reason. God forbid that I get on my PC or talk on the phone. Then there is petting my dog. It is just not allowed for either of us. She's a jealous one indeed. She gets plenty of playtime, being an indoor/outdoor cat, so she certainly is not bored.
Overstimulation. I didn't even touch him. He approached me. He initiated contact. Then HE bite me. I literally didn't do shit lol.

This is something new to me. I've had cats all my life since I was a kid, and none of the other ones bit when I would pet them like this new adopted abandoned cat does. It licks your hand and then softly bites it. But I don't care for that. So I'm training it not to.
In my life I've had many cats and since the death of my beloved Maine Coon, I adopted a kitten. This little bundle of energy has totally surprised me. She is different from my other easy going gentle kitties. This little girl wants to play all the time. She loves toys she can hunt and attack so when she plays with me, she treats my hand like one of those toys and will chew on my hand. She isn't biting me. It doesn't hurt but she's young and I don't want her to continue playful chewing as she matures. How can I make her stop biting/chewing? She's not angry, she's using my hand as a play toy. What can I do – other than stop playing with her? Would getting her a playmate help or might that make things worse? I'm retired and on a tight budget. A second cat would be tough to handle financially, but if it would help, I'd find a way.
My neighbors cat jumps over my yard and i feed him but when he's done eating and i try to pet his head he bites me hard and then slaps my hand !! I just give him a spank in the butt and tell NO !! 😂 I'm a dog owner +20 years of experience but cats are just from another planet man…

I adopted a 3 y/o feral female cat 2 yrs ago. It has been a tremendous learning experience. She loves having a warm home of her own. A feral cat can be tamed but it requires time and patience.😺💞
What about senior cats that won't play, won't allow holding,! While I do get rattle snake tail, I haven't seen my cat raise her tail in happiness in 6 years, since we traumatized her by moving here . She's 14 now and bites me without warning, even though I'm extremely careful how I pet her.😮

He will drag it upstairs when I'm in the bathroom, or bring it to me when I wake up! It's a constant/ all day thing. I can't get him to play with any other toys right now either. Help!!
We just got a cat for trial, shes roughly ten years old and was found in a container a few months ago. She has the problem that she comes up to sniff my hand and give a headbump, but then immediately turns around and tries to bite. Not actually biting, just showing that she does not want it. But she came up to me in the first place. I am now trying to get her used to me touching her head while shes distracted with a liquid snack that she loves. I hope she will turn around. Shes just here since 5 days, so i hope even despite her age i can build up enough trust to be able to touch her. I think she must have had bad experiences.
But i have to say its hard for me cause it hurts the feelings if you first think she comes up to show some affection, even if its brief, but then decides to act like i went to far, even tho she came to me and i didnt even move. I take it a bit to personal. I hope i have the mental strength to keep going with her. Maybe more catification can help her as well

But I think trying to understand an individual cat isn't really a human's fault if there are mistakes, since the cat's needs are the puzzles we are trying to solve, not the other way around. It's all learning, but cats can be really vague especially as biting can mean play, affection, and also anger. I mean c'mon here.
