Rather than a top-down perspective, I'd like more of these games to have the art be isometric to add a sense of depth.
Perhaps it just needs an expansion along the lines of "My Citizens." Could have you each game competing to attract certain citizens (similar to Welcome To having certain goals each game). If you keep that citizen more than one game in a row, the rewards go up, so it nudges you towards meeting those conditions to score points and keep them from others, but at the trade-off of possibly making other mistakes.

Seeing this three years after the pandemic because the algorithm decided I ike Quinns, which I do, so I'm seeing ALL the Quinns. Not a bad way to relax after work. Oh and probably not a game I'll be getting, but Quinns is sufficiently entertaining I don't care whether the game is to my liking or not, I'll still watch the entire video. 😀

I received Scarabya for Christmas, which is a similar polyomino game that is family friendly. No legacy element, but compelling gameplay as your team of archaeologists works to uncover ancient artifacts by surrounding their sites. Each player color also has a totally different theme, which is a nice little touch. Definitely worth checking out for fans of the genre, or if you're looking for a game to play with family that may not be drawn to urban planning.

I remember being a kid where I had a book that included different letters to people that you were "delivering," unique envelopes with some fun note inside, also themed to the letter.
