My cat is so needy. When she's not sleeping. She even follows me to the toilet. I love it❤
Ive gotten 2 cats like a month or so ago. I was supposed to only have one and my brother have the other but he ended up having an allergy to the fur so i keep both. This my first time with pets. At first it was just the older one luckee that was super aggressive fighting me and her little brother dee but now dee is kind of warming up to being aggressive 😂. I try to play with them give them and give them space when needed. I think i may have already created this disconnect bcs sometimes i let them have the whole room to themselves with out me around for long periods of time. (Because im either cooking or doing something of importantace). And earlier times i use to put them in their little cages with like comforters and toys but i thinking now they probably didnt like that very much. I also dont think i showed enough patience when they would do something wrong in my book and put them in their little cages. Thinking about it now the only times they actually do come close to me is to try and bite a finger, scratch, or lick. Dee is usually easier to handle bcs he still allows me to pick him up we even do nose rub sometimes. Luckee tends to try and attack if i approach. I try to keep a routine going for food but i think i may have to go deeper than that like maybe schedule exactly when a playtime is,when food is, etc. This this would be difficult bcs my day to day is very different(mainly my fault) so i think ill start with that but im still worried that wont be enough(or a bit too late even). I need like serious tips.
Thank you for uploading these informative videos!
Your first part, give your cat space is spot on. My cat has her place……the whole house. She does what she wants, when she wants. We have a routine and if I'm half hour late in feeding her wet food, she lets me know about. In Spanish, (I live in Costa Rica), we call her Necio.
Which means "pest". But she's my pest.
MOST IMPORTANTLY…!!!
YOU DON’T “OWN” ANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND YOU DOM’T OWN YOUR CAT❣️
IF YOU CHOOSE TO WELCOME ANOTHER MEMBER TO YOUR FAMILY, LIVES AND HOME, PLEASE DON’T THINK OF THEM AS A POSSESSION, BUT RATHER A RESPECTED EQUAL WITH FEELINGS AND NEEDS, DESERVING OF RESPECT JUST LIKE YOU
He’s a cuddle bug some days and some days he’s Mr. Independent, but he always wants ear rubs and scratches at bedtime.
Cats like consistency. Indoor only cats especially, need an hour or more a day of bonding/playtime with you. Sometimes they are only engaged for a short amount of time, so divide up the hour, 1/2 hour in the AM and 1/2 in the evening. Evenings are super important, as cats are nocturnal and may prevent you from getting a good nights sleep. Exercise will poop them out and they’ll go to bed with you. Let your cat experience their instincts! Hunt, kill, eat. Hide freeze dried pieces of chicken hearts or other healthy treats for them to sniff out ^..^
I love watching your videos you've taught me so much about the cat creatures which got me even closer to my own cat and I agree with the last comment dressing your cat up can be a discomfort for the cat just let your cat be your cat and he'll love you more for it
Your cat is not a dog!
Yup I agree 😃 thank you for the video
🐺😍!
Your cat will be a happy, healthy and more well rounded cat if you let your cat decide to come to you and only come to you! It will show your cat that you love and care for him and or her, or if you have two of the same gender? Ditto
Hell no,! If you want physical contact with your cat? As long as it's the positive kind of contact? You let your cat come to you! Don't Ever force yourself on your cat! Ever! If you do? You don't deserve to have a cat!
Base camp
People don't deserve to distrust their cats but their cats have plenty of reasons to distrust tbem
Or you making your cat's home or life difficult
Why do cats have such cute mouths?
I'm so f* up cat crazy that the expression "cat owner" who OWN a cat? who don't feel like their parent?
Great video ❣️ My 3 and I couldn't get any closer than we are cause we are so close… We are tight 💞🐈🐈🐈
Great site. One thing I would suggest is training your cat. And yes you can do it!
Not like a dog, but allowing you to touch their paws, ears and so on. Getting used to a pet carrier. It is all by positive reinforcement and also on the cats timetable. Never leave a training session on a negative note. The cat will be frustrated and unlikely to engage again. Always on a positive act and full of praise. Obviously the positive reinforcement is by food treats and the session should not last more than 5-10 mins, Or until the cat wanders off! Getting them trained in this way, helps bonding, but helps if they need their nails cut or ears cleaned, or visits to the vet. Little and often.
I know most people on this site know this, but just in case a new by comes.
Cats are very intelligent and empathetic, so it's worth all the time you can spend with them so you are able to understand what they are trying to say to you.
That's a whole other thing! Cats can learn to use communication buttons fairly effectively (try BillliSpeaks on YouTube)!
Thank u4 the simply, warmly, beautifully stated words.
These are all really great points.
Luckily I have naturally discovered them all.
If my cat an I were any 'closer' Id be carrying him around in my pocket. Btw when you put a collar or anything around a cat's neck then DON'T let him/her outside where they jump fences and go through and under things as that can EASILY cause them to BE HANGED by the neck…………….please. My cat does NOT like being picked up or held, only when Im sitting or lying down. He never lies on his back.
I do ask my cats to join me to nap, watch TV, etc. But it's never a force. I don't physically manhandle them. If they want me they know where and how to find me.
While im cooking i often show my cat what ingredients im working with and let her smell them. Also if i get a new package ill let her take a small wiff
