I’ve got a fear of dogs but we got this German Shepherd when he was a puppy to try to kinda overcome my fear. A year later, he’s so much bigger now and gets too excited when I step out to see him. He jumps on me and I’m like 5 foot tall. He’s not properly trained yet so this’ll be a struggle lol

What do you do though, when you have a dog who's excellent at sit and stay… but who completely forgets you even exist when there's another dog in the vicinity? Our adopted dog just turned three, and goes mental. He's gotten a bit better, though we had some replapse the last few days. The best we can do at this point is to walk away if we see other dogs. If we can, we will stop and let him watch the other dog from afar, and reward when he looks back at us. This works fine. Sometimes, if we can get enough distance between us, we can go to the side and let him watch as the other dog passes by, again rewarding with treats whenever he looks at the dog without barking, and when he looks back at us. This sometimes works. Meeting other dogs in places where we can't get enough distance, that's just chaos control. Keeping him as far away as possible, os as short a leash as possible, and jamming a sausage up his nose as a potential distraction (it works sometimes a little bit, but generally he goes mental). We don't know what to do. He's a reactive insecure dog, and yelling at him or using Cesar Millan methods (yanking at the leash or "kicking" in the butt) don't work cause it only makes him afraid of us and he'll bark at us too. :'( Don't know what to do. He got better at the start, but nothing has happened in the last 4 months. He's just… stuck in his ways as it is right now. Help?

HELP!!! Puppy jumping on older dog
Hi Zak! Obsessed with your channel, thank you for all that you do! This video really helped me with the puppy jumping on people problem… but what about jumping on other dogs? I have 14wk old face-pouncing my 13yr old… it’s really like throwing cotton balls at my older pups face but obviously no one loves to be “attacked” this way so he growls and nips at the puppy. I tried applying this video’s principles but it isn’t working… I’m exhausted!
