My orange tabby is not right in a head ; ,but hes smart as hell and "talkative " is grouse understatement; hecwont shut up…EVER
Anybody who says orange cats are dumb is projecting their own stupidity on cats.
We have a total of 3 cats in our house
Milo the oldest and calm collected
Rocky the elegant silent
And.. we got another one… im sure you know
I always think I should have named mine Heathcliff. 6 months ago I got my first ever orange cat. The vet said the orange cat thing was a stereotype and some are calm…….mine was they typical orange ive heard about😂😂 but I Love every bit of him
With the orange cats it depends on the gender of the cat I've found. Orange girl cats like the one I have right now are actually pretty smart but like the boys you don't want to anger them. The boys tend to be the "special" kitties.
My ginger man is a flame piont siamese, so I don't think he fits here. He is very emotionally needy. I have to feed him and his sister seal lynx point canned food only. No dry food left out. Dewey (the ginger point simese) will wolf down an entire container. Puke it up and beg for more. I tried Iams dry cat food. It should have said "cat crack" on the label. Had to throw it away.
All the Jackson Galaxy videos should have an orange cat section at the end 🤣🤣🤣
I just bring a wild orange cat on my working field..there was 3 wild baby cat,but i only pick the orange one.. surprisingly he was so calm and friendy to me..the another cat just run away and feels hostile to me😂
Orange cats only possess extreme versions of behavior. They are either EXTREMELY stupid, friendly, aggressive, or in very rare cases smart. Their personality will be on the furthest end of any spectrum.
I know its mostly people having fun, but this "orange cat behavior" really bugs me. Aren't animals stereotyped enough by phylum or species or sex or health already? So many things can be called orange cat behavior that its like horoscopes. So general it can apply to anyone. Anyway. Animals are individuals just like we are. It doesn't feel good when someone makes assumptions about your character from one of your physical features that you can't choose or change.
I don't know if you'll even see this, but Mr. Galaxy I need your hepl. The Universe recently gifted me the cutest orange tiger whom I named Hobbs. I've done everything a good cat parent should: toys, clean litter, beds, good organic foods, shots, vaccines and as much love as I had ever had for a kitty…but after I got him neutered, Hobbes went from my suggle bug to a cat who barely tolerates me😢He is an indoor/outdoor cat and when he comes in at night, he eats and then hides in another room for the rest of the night. He barely even notices me until he wakes me up to go out in the morning. I've given him toys and scratching post to keep him occupied…but nope. Just ignores everything. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong?? I just want my boy to not hate me😞
Apparently in China the orange cat stereotype is that they are tough guys.
Me and my mom went to go get a cat to get our dog a friend (my dad took the cats in the divorce)
We asked the shelter if they had any cats that were used to dogs and they showed us this little orange girl who was climbing the cage to come see us. I pointed out that orange females are rare and my mom just fell in love.
Ginger is the greatest cat ever. If you laid down anywhere in the house shed come right up and snuggle with you. You could have conversations with her and she'd meow right back. We got her a cat tree and its in the living room and everytime you wwalk past and shes on it she says hello and stretches out.
She definitely shares the orange braincell though!
i have 4 cats. and my one orange cat absolutely fits the model of ALL of these stereotypes where none of the others do. he's smart enough to get in trouble and too dumb to know when to stop. the only thing he doesn't do is jump. he has it in his head that he can't.
My 2 orange cats were beyond weird:
1) When I adopted my tiny 4 week old rescue peach cotton ball he and his tortie sister were raised exactly the same: same attention, food, care, etc. The tortie was sweet and normal. My orange fuzz ball would slam cabinet doors, open lever and round knobs to enter rooms as he wished. When locked out of a room he would throw himself against the door and scream like he was being beaten (even if it was in the room with him). He used the hallway as a runway of terror, building momentum before launching – claws out – to scale the human in his path. He would also climb us like trees again with claws out. He somehow ended up on top of a 12FT high cathedral ceiling beam in an otherwise empty room (that was fun), and would sing at the top of his lungs at 2pm in the living room.
2) My other orange cat decided her place was INSIDE the walls of our house, coming out only to eat. The few times anyone was able to pet her she was a lovebug before sauntered off to the basement and hopping between the drywall for some alone time.
The 8 other cats I have had the pleasure to care for over the years were normal. And kind of boring compared to the gingers.
I have female tortie (4 yrs) and a male dusty orange tabby (9 mos) and they socialized like buttahhh. Orange baby is the golden boy and can do no wrong. 😅 incredibly vocal and cuddly but most of my male babies are super cuddly.
My dad talked about this before the internet.
We're adopting an orange cat tomorrow… we're going to name him….. Durpy!!
It’s so interesting because there definitely hasn’t been any genetic correlation made between color and temperament/personality, but every time I see one of these polls, the cat owners always have the same thing to say. I have an orange cat and also a tortie and their personalities are exactly what these videos purport them to be. My tortie is a little fireball and my orange cat is a foolish sweetie pie. I do think it’s interesting that the “coat color personality” correlation seems to be most recognized by owners in cats with coat colors almost exclusively linked to a specific gender. It’s obviously another common rope that male and female cats have different personalities so it’s intriguing that this seems most pronounced (to us humans at least) in color/gender specific coat colorings
