Yes, i dont like China and the government there steals soooooo many IPs…. buuuut TenCent has been making some waves and producing quality games recently and you have to give them credit for making games people actually like to play. If they are the ones who have to buy the company to bring back quality assassins creeds, ghost recon and many other IPs back to life without all this woke and lazy bullshit today then so be it….. i just want to play a good fun game thats worth my time and money and has good gameplay and mechanics.

Do I trust China, No. Do I trust the united states, no, do I trust the EU.. No. Do i trust 10 cent. Maybe. Buy em out get rid of the g*y shit and woke crap and just release good games. If 10 cent are gonna put their money to developers to do this then its good business. 10 cent brought into SQUAD and we saw some minor micro transactions for minor gun skins. Which in all honesty are kind of map relatable.. so being a squad player and 10 cent getting amongst it, i am not too bothered. Either way. Both entities will share and sell your data and business will come first. Hopefully its good business because I have just had to go and dig on the interent to buy Keys for GRAW 1 and 2 because im tired of the shit that ubisoft put out these days.

Someone should come in and make sure that all those employees have a chance to show they should stay in the company. Give them 6 months for each team to make a good game. If you cant make something then fire them.

I think its win win, best case Ubislop die and nothing of value is lost. Worst case we might get some slightly above average games. Lets face it anything is better than Ubislop and their racist and sexist views, at least the CCP Tencent division are interested in making money as well as stealing data.

This has been a long time coming. Yves Gillemot should’ve thought about how to run it properly, instead of chasing some dumb lazziez-faire pipe dream that the way they’ve been running it for over a decade. If Tencent means taking over to change their ways, so be it; Delta Force and Marvel Rivals has been my go two for the multiplayer space right now.

If Tencent ends up buying every company (like chinese will eventually buy every western company bit by bit, owning everything without a single war) – doesnt it mean it doesnt matter to Tencent what kind of games they push out because there is no competition anymore?

Quick and dirty: Ubi got great by hitting niche markets with solid games. They then got greedy, copied EA / Acti yearly formulaic releases, then sought lowest paying style which ment kicking out their good devs/ teams / writers / managers / directors etc. Then DEI hit, and hit effin harder than Myke Tyson / M Bison in his prime, allowing people to get a job not based on skill or experience, but just on a checklist based off non job related factors, and fail blog followed, because if one can recover if they have one fail, but if they have 10+ fails, recovery isn't in the cards this time.

key reasons why ubi failed they went from competent game devs that were lead by directors / managers intrested in making fun, passionate games. Those games were paired with good writers who could come up with compelling stories, and they happened to hit on niche markets that didn't exit, allowing them to get hit after hit, like Tom Clancy stuff was FPS but mil sim / realistic leaning. They had splinter cell which was FPS + MEtal Gear solid, they had Assassins Creed, which was a stealth / assassin game

But somewhere along the line they got greedy and saw what others (EA and Activision) were pioneering a formulaic method of makikng a GOTY, but tweaking it slightly so it was the same but had somethine new, and releasing it once a a year. Ubi sought to master this and they did but lately they sought the lowest bidder and began kicking out talent.

So the team that won the superbowl, they got rid of the coaches, key players, and destroyed that cohesion that all star team and ubisoft was scratching their head why they didn't get into the the playoffs / GOTY running.

Then DEI hit the industry, and unlike the Dinosaurs who recognized the vast destruction of the metoric rise of DEI, the gamers didn't realize it. DEI allowed people that didn't even have job skills to get and expect to do the job. It also prevented quality, refinement, or even testing, because avoiding offending or preventing feelings hurt was more important than seeing if something works, experiementing, or recognizing a mistake and fixing it. Or even organizaing, making critical decisions as a leader was fronwed upon, but if your team got along and showed off their crayon drawings and block code, it was a call for celebration.

With several negative factors (no teams to make great games, niches already filled by competitor / no titles of their own to fill, reputation for failing, mediocracy, repeated bad management descisions, incorpration of bad methodology, bad techniques . . . )

i used to love ubisoft, then i grew to hate ubisoft, but the last 5-6 years, i just dont fucking care what games they bring out, im not interested… and that is damning, they can say people get upset/angry, about publishers/games, which shows some sort of passion, but for close on a decade now i just dont give a fuck what they do, as no matter what they do, im not giving them money.

Corporations dont care bankrupting, Board folks got rich already, next year they start new shit, UBISOFT DOES (((NOT))) CARE !!!

At this point, any buyer would be beneficial for Ubisoft or, at least, for the good franchises they have. They simply can't keep it going, but it's also important to mention that Tencent is known for gacha and pay to win games that would easily flop outside Asia. If they get on board, they will also need to adapt their strategies for each market.

So many good IPs and still can't release a good game. Company got to big and wants a live service cash crab.

I feel like so many developers has lost it when it comes to making games. So many bad games being released now a days. 2025 looks freaking good though.
