The billions in financial and military aid to Ukraine have been under heavy scrutiny lately, with the amounts and usage of the funds in question.
As of Monday March 3rd, 2025 multiple outlets are reporting that an anonymous White House official has indicated that Trump intends to pause and review further aid to Ukraine.
This infographic visualizes the 10 largest donors of aid to Ukraine, based on total aid allocations over the three years from January 24, 2022, to the end of 2024. The data comes from the Ukraine Support Tracker by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which focuses on government-to-government transfers of aid.
Which Countries Are Providing the Most Aid?
The top 10 donors have collectively provided nearly $280 billion in military, financial, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since 2022. Roughly 85% of this aid has come from just two regions—the U.S. and Europe.

The U.S. is the largest donor overall and also leads in military aid donations, which include weapons, equipment, and funds for weapon procurement. In total, the U.S. has provided nearly $120 billion in aid to Ukraine since the war began in 2022.
Members and institutions of the European Union (EU) have nearly matched U.S. contributions, totaling $118.5 billion. They lead in financial and humanitarian support, including loans, budgetary aid, and relief supplies.
Other large donors include the UK, with $15.5 billion in total aid and two-thirds of it in military assistance. Japan has also contributed significantly, with $9.6 billion in financial aid sent to Ukraine.
The Debate Around Aid to Ukraine
With the war entering its third year, political leaders and American citizens are questioning future aid commitments to Ukraine.
Recently, U.S. President Trump claimed that the U.S. had donated $350 billion in aid to Ukraine, demanding access to Ukraine’s mineral resources as compensation.
However, the $350 billion figure is unverified, with the highest verified figure being $183 billion by Ukraine Oversight (which includes indirect expenses related to the conflict), followed by the Kiel Institute’s $119.6 billion figure visualized in the graphic above.
Meanwhile, the EU has reaffirmed its support to Ukraine and is reportedly planning a further $20.9 billion military aid package.
