Does killing sub-bosses affect (boost) weapons found in treasure chests or not?

I have now mapped all talus's thx to your vids, thanks stone jesus.
I just defeated the "6/12" one and 2 notes from me:
1) quite difficult, it took me some time to realise that hitting it with a melee weapon is next to impossible (totally forgot about the spears, though, I was focused on iron sledgehammer, farmer's hoe etc) so I used arrows, then came up with even better idea – bomb arrows! (fortunately, I had decent amount of both)
2) when defeated, I believe the drops were rather odd – very few luminous stones (if any!), much more ambers etc. Is it normal? Or maybe it was "losing" luminous stones during the fight and I just failed to notice that? Even if so – would they despawn on the defeat?

This is gonna be useful. Luminous Stones are great for getting a lot of diamonds from that one architect in Zora's Domain.
Now, how many do I have to kill to get the armour in the secret Gerudo shop?
