You are the realist trainer, I got a pitbull pup and he's running at me at launching when I go in the Pen with him to play. I just figured as soon as I go in I step forward and take space and catch him in midair and intercept the jump. As soon as he sits I go down and love on him and then move on. I act like an aloof brute just walking towards him and he gets it and gives me space. You confirmed what I do, everything cannot be food.

My experience with my 80lb lab/maremma puppy is the same. He launches at me and others who greet him. He's a big powerful pup full of excitement and I'm a 68 yo woman. He could hurt someone. So, I've used your technique and it works wonderfully. Many of your other techniques for stopping play biting, pulling on the leash, etc work so well. And he still thinks I'm the cats pajamas 😁 Thank you!

Nope, It never worked and it's never i don't care of what Karens (men or women, It doesn't matter) Say, they'll lead you into how to ruin your dog. I like positive reinforcing but Just sometimes when we train for the commands, i prefer vocal or quick touch reward. I never had treats for every single breath and Just because i was existing.
However, i could see that Dobbie's fine and also his feelings weren't hurt at all. My weimie does the same, he doesn't go in corner to Hide himself with a sad face, keeps playing but not rough.

Great advice. I have a 9 month old Bernedoodle who jumps and she also runs right into my 8 year old Great Pyrenees on purpose and hurts her. Then all hell breaks loose and the pyr goes after the smaller dog. I NEED to get it corrected!
How do I get my dog to stop jumping on other people. She doesn’t jump on me anymore but does on others. I find it difficult to explain to them the method you suggest about moving toward them and putting a knee up. Also, she can jump from standing to 6 feet high without warning.

I would love any tips for getting my terrier mix to stop jumping! She has done it since the day I met her; her foster dad let her out of the kennel, she ran up to me and jumped high enough I had to catch her. She jumps straight up in the air when I take her collar off the hook to go outside, has knocked kids down at the dog park (followed by the most obnoxious face licking 🤦🏻♀️).
