I know this review is about older, but I think you're issues with combat is not a game issue…it's a YOU issue.
Combat is the primary action sequence in Diablo, always has been. It's the one thing that always kept people playing, with exciting loots drops, even when the game was failing in other areas.
The fact it feels the same to Diablo 3, to me, is exactly WHY I would want to play it. When Diablo 3 launched, it was SO different from 2 that I didn't play it. A year later I tried it again, and it was suddenly enough like 2 overall that I was able to enjoy it. Thousands of hours later, I still play it.
If the only negative you really have is that the combat is too much like Diablo 3, then I need to buy it now and play it.
i really thought this was more of a multi-player game and its ended to be a single player its not why i bought it bit gutted everything in the open world is the same combat is boring i feel a MTX shop for pay to win in its future
there is nothing more boring than an easy rpg
Ok Blizzard we know you said Lilith used to be a dude but did they have to give her a ridiculous overbite too? 😂
How long is a fortnight?
But you are playing the least manual and likely one of the strongest solo classes, Necro. Of course its going to be boring when you can literally stand still and complete most combat scenarios. Just seems a weird talking point, when you know you are playing the only class like this.
Thanks for the review.
If people want to criticise the review in the comments that is fair enough but the over the top outrage is just pathetic. Please ignore it.
The only question I have is do I HAVE to play with other people? Are the multiplayer aspects REQUIRED? I hate the fact they have turned a freaking single player game into an MMO. Not EVERY damned game has to be multiplayer like everyone apparently thinks now days. Make a single player Diablo like this should have been and then make a Diablo MMO game separately for those that want another MMO to play. It seems like I am the only one disappointed by the multiplayer bullshit and not impressed by it. What happens when players dwindle and nobody is farming those world bosses and such? What happens when you can't find people to group/fight with and therefore can't accomplish the same things or obtain the same things as previous players did? What about those that just don't want to freaking bother with other people because they have to deal with them all day long every day and just want to play Diablo and wipe mobs out? I'm not spending any money on this game until I find out if playing with others is required or not.
not interested in being bent over by blizz. FF16 and pass.
Thank you for the review. I would be interested to hear about the multiplayer aspect. I spent many hours online with friends and family with Diablo so it would be good to hear if they improved on it. It's a shame to hear that the combat is lackluster. I was looking forward to them going back to how it was in 2 and not remain from 3. This may be in the 'wait & play or wait for sale' pile.
Excellent work, Zoe
Nice. Someone that know that the worst part of D4 is the combat itself. As every review also points out without pointing it out, there is no content outside of combat.
Totally agree the gameplay and combat feels the same as Diablo 3. Zzz
sick of these streamer press build shit 2 weeks of bs and spoilers! terrible review as well (talks about room + footage of a necro at least sinc the footage ) thumbs down! overwhelmed at 33 and didnt get to end game and does a review lol………lolololololol typical d3 player take! imagine thinking diablo combat is weak lol its diablo. thinks they have lost it ? projection much!
you sound completly bored
and i don't understand you, putting hundread of hours on a game that you think the combat is just fine…
Perhaps the combat becomes more spectacular ones the character will reach the sweet spot level both spiritual as well as artefact…? Or game creators simply save some job for later and they going to create a update…?
Great review I appreciate your opinions on the combat feeling the same. What exactly is the next step for gameplay in ARPGs? Would like to see a multiplayer review from you as well.
It is Diablo 3 with some graphic improvement LOL
1:35 The actual good basis of comparison would have been Diablo 2 Resurrected
This feels like clickbait. Review in progress at best. You didn't even get to the end game (with the best loot and everything else) that might make your combat better.
Finally an honest review that doesn't kiss ass blizzard like the countless other reviews I watched (fetxtralife, rhykker, force gaming, ign, etc). This is a bland mmo lite with repetitive tasks that strives to build on Diablo 3 and immortal not take risks and create an enjoyable and riveting dark experience. The story was not tackled in this review due to nda but I hear it's 90% filler until the end and it's lackluster. It's clearly a massive grind just to repeat the same tasks over and over like swtor and other mmo. The story takes 10 hours only too, and then you spend 100 hrs in dailies, seasons, and other mobile game nonsense like blizzard expects you to. Spending money on cash shop and battle pass to make each season more enjoyable until the inevitable DLC where the story will be finally expanded upon, at a price. I'm sorry but this is a game I will get on discount at best. I don't feel like grinding useless tasks for 100+ hours like I did countless dumb mmos and mobile games as I did in the past. I want polished single player experiences so I guess I will play ff16 since I don't own a switch for Zelda.
I’ve only played Diablo 3, which I much later discovered was widely considered the worst Diablo game. I loved it though. Diablo 4 looks great. But I understand it’s not really meant for solo play, and I’m a single player person.
Is it a always online only game?
Thanks for the honesty, I think I'll wait for it to come down in price. I loved the first two, but three just degraded into attrition and I was mind-numbingly bored after a couple of days of playing it.
At least here I get to make any sort of decision on the build of my character, and there are rumours of a present storyline 😅
This whole video is a waste of time. I will go to another review cause yours is lazy
D2 is my second Favorite GOAT, Second only to Everquest. I've been waiting for a Worthy Successor to D2 for far too long ☠ God willing 😇 This will be it…
