This game blows.
Want to get this but not a fan of the dice rolls. Seems unnecessary
Thanks for talking about what story mode is really like. Every video I’ve seen about the difficulty just says to avoid it but not everyone is a D&D master. I’ve never played D&D and just dabbled with BG1&2 but didn’t understand them at all. As someone who is more used to JRPGs and the most hard core CRPG I’ve managed to play is Dragon Age Origins I think story mode is probably for me.
I also disagree with your weird insinuation that 5e is THE tabletop experience. 😑
That's like saying WoW is THE MMORPG. It only works if your criteria is "the most popular" but then you just pretend like other, even better MMORPGs don't exist at all.
IMO 5e is one of the weaker DnD iterations for video games because it was developed to make manual calculations less complex and tedious at the price of realism and variety, but for computers that's completely unnecessary.
You spent "over 13 hours" in act 1 because you tried to complete everything? 🤔
Even if that was "30" pronounced weirdly, I would still press X to doubt. You can easily spend 50+ hours in act 1 IMO.
what is it with weebs being the most stupid pretentious contrarian monkeys of the gaming community that Noisy Pixel seems to attract? I think JRPGs neckbeards are butthurt that a CRPG has shat 90% of JRPGs as far as roleplaying is concerned by virtue of not being an interactive visual novel with the occasional turn based combat. Also act 2 and 3's story is great. The only issues is the performance is Act 3. I love reading the salty butthurt comments here. Daily reminder that weebs deserve to be bullied.
I am still on act 2. hehehe
Had no time still at goblin camp then rerolled to go back and learn properly
This came cleansed my palette after to awful mediocrity of FF16. It nearly did everything right which FF16 did wrong when it came to storytelling and exploration. I love how every inch of the map is filled with content and there are no quests where you talk to 10 people for borebuilding. There's lost of hilarious dialogue and intriguing characters, but the game never tries to be too serious or deep for it's own good. The only issue are the bugs and those kinds of issues (on my PC the game crashes all the time) Despite that I can't stop playing. That should tell you something. I'll easily put over 200 hours into this.
This game is a perfect example of front loading to get good reviews and the farther you get in the game the more boring the story gets 😴 Also bugs all over it seems they stop caring after some chapters to rush release. This is the reason why JRPGS are way better they put the story first and develop around it while this game seems to do both at the same time without real endings or outlines… also no dice bullcrap
While I'm interested in this. I'm gonna save this for last, too many games coming out and this game is a huge time sink.
I'm a big Noisy Pixel fan, but I'm disappointed at the lack of discussion for the late-game bugs, story flow, and obviously cut content. The early game is great, sure, but it's not a complete game right now and doesn't deserve that high of a score on release.
Gotten to Act 3 with three separate characters. Act 1 is flawless but mid to late Act 2 onwards has the game unravelling in weird ways. Reminds me of Larian's other games and why I never finished Divinity Original Sin 2 when it first launched.
Maybe this will show Square Enix that turn-based games can be critically acclaimed and sell well; you just have to make a good one. Hell, I don't even believe that BG 3 has the best turn-based combat ever, but it works really well.
I honestly have no idea what's so good about BG3. While the characters are fleshed out, the interactions are simply boring. It all feels fake, people in this game act like they are in some kind of play, and not in a real world they are supposed to inhabit. Zero atmosphere can be felt in this game and the music is probably the worst part – completely forgettable and bland.
