I finished it twice just recently, and had a wonderful time. It was relatively short and sweet for a first playthrough + all endings — you can re-fight the final boss as much as you want to get the remaining endings by loading your save.
It definitely has a much smoother skill-curve than I was expecting, with difficulty ramping up quite gently, honestly — except the first boss which is a bit of a "gate / check" for you as a player, but even he ended up very fun once I learned what he was about.
Don't expect a terribly long playthrough, but if you're the kind of player who enjoys replaying more focused, condensed experiences over and over again to seek player-growth and mastery (where are my Capcom gamers? :D) you'll probably like this game.
There's a pretty great amount of playstyle customization, with different Talents and Plague Weapons giving you some very unique mechanics compared to others, so if you like trying out different moves and seeing how they synergize (or don't) with each other, that'd also be fun for you.
Overall, great little game, I hope it does well and I hope OverBorder makes more stuff in the future.
The design of the player character is really the only appealing thing to me. Everything else about the game looks bland and janky.
Souls-like? You mean Metroid, castlevaina, Zelda, darksiders. Stop bullshitting. Getting out of gaming journalists. It’s time for gamers to have there opportunities back. Your a cult of scribes.
It does not look bad as Soul clone….problem is we have already Elden Ring, best game ever for me ,where i spent 400+ hours already and it is really, really hard to compare ER with clones and dont make bad, negative comment 🙂
I think it's a really single-minded view to just look at first glance and think "Oh look, another souls wannabe." It's definitely inspired by Souls games, but it's still it's own game. Looks rough around the edges, a little outdated, but it still looks decent imo. Love the aesthetic and setting.
I PLAYED IT FOR 15 MINUTES… IT'S SUPER UGLY, RIGHT?🤮🤮
Too bad these games can't stand on there on merit that you feel have keep comparing them to successful games to sucker players into getting interested in them. So goes the way of reviewer BS.
Ah souls-like, a genre that real-life responsibilities will never allow me to enjoy. Too much grinding and learning to fully enjoy in the little time I get to play every week.
Sekiro
Ну это хуйня однозначно
Не плохо
I think they forgot to turn on player shadows/NPC… Right?
Why not 4K🥺
Another ugly and boring soulslike. Devs really dont understand what souls is and why people play it.
i dont like it cause the character movement speed doesnt match his legs
watching the walking float around no thanks
Animations look really rough , the fact that the character's doesn't react to elevation , stairs or momentum makes this game look like a HD version of a PS2 game.
Also this isn't really a great part of the game they are showing I hope because the level looks REALLY bland and lacking in detail and identity.
This cannot be a full priced game with that level of quality.
Combat looks like a more broken version of Souls. Yuck.
could devs pls do something about that movement pls, feels like character is sliding on the floor
Just saw dreamcastguy review, he actually finished the game & did all the side quests: which he was raving about. Maybe don't do a review if you've only got to level 2. Def. wouldn't trust a review from this guy who doesn't even know that most of the game is apparently in the side quests which according to other people are huge & immersive; so what has he even finished to judge by? This video should not even have been published if you've done so little of the game.
Saw the comments and thought this was a prince of persia style game. Sad to find out it’s another souls clone
It looks a bit boring.
The Sands of Time was not the first Prince of Persia game. The first came out in 1989 and was just called "Prince of Persia" since first games don't typically have name subtitles.
after Dan's departure Marcus became the new Souls guy 🙂
Looks dope
Its look how shit…
I am digging this aesthetic
Cannot wait till this drops! 🧪
The main character: Let's practice medicine
Also 100% down with the concept
