Spoiler, it did
It's weird because as much as I enjoy BG3 it's basically Divinity 3, the concept hasn't changed that much. The DnD aspect is more visible in the presentation for sure but it was still there in Divinity. I guess it was just the right game at the time.
Oh sweet, another youtuber admitting he's a sodomite.
Im over 90 hours in and just got to last light inn by the moorise tower. Its amazing.
And it did indeed win Game Of The Year
Well said
And you were right.
now days pc game which is even bad then mobile game won awards lol
Aged like fine wine 🍷
Aaaaand it did.
BG3 not only won GOTY, but also best RPG, best multi-player, and Player's Voice!
BG3 GOTY!!!!
it did
Well then..
im only seeing 50 year old people here saying something positive about the game💀bg3 is not gonna win anything💀
not gonna watch the video because I am already convinced, just came here to say I agree it should and probably will win it.
however, there is always the chance that it won't. the game awards is pretty sus, seems rigged af. zelda botw had no business winning goty a few years ago, when horizon zero dawn was a far better game with way more impressive game mechanics and visuals + art style. I have been saying for many years now, zelda botw is probz one of the most overrated games of all time. also how on earth is dragons dogma 2 not on most anticipated nominees? have they even watched the videos of it? looks phenomenal
shadowheart alone makes it goty
I am a Zelda fan at heart. I found your channel by your Zelda content. I've played all the games and I love a lot of them. I've never had any other systems besides Nintendo. Other than Zelda I usually do the odd indie title or just random, casual game. Think Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Sky: Children of the Light, etc. When TotK was released I was hyped. Beyond hyped. I couldn't wait to see what they would do and that third and final trailer before release gave me chills, I was so excited. And then…I played it. And I was let down. I had 550 hours in BotW before I got genuinely bored. I barely clocked 150 hours in TotK before I gave up, killed Ganondorf, barely did any side quests, and put the game down. I was honestly sad that I wasn't into it like I had been for a lot of other Zelda games. It was still good, yes, but it wasn't what I thought it would be.
Like a month back, while on vacation, I was scrolling through YouTube shorts and I found one on a game named Baldur's Gate 3. It was some dialogue line or thirst trap for Astarion, and I was like oh this is a pretty character, cool game, anyways. Kept scrolling. After that I was slowly drip fed Astarion YT shorts. Then I was flooded. He was everywhere. I finally looked into the game and was kinda sad when I couldn't play it, I don't have a PC or the right consoles. I was a Zelda girl. So I watched as much as I could on the game, if I couldn't play it I would live it through someone else's playthrough. But I caved. I started looking into gaming PCs and found a streaming service called GeForce NOW. For $10 a month I could play Steam games on any device. Sold. I made a Steam account, got the game, got a subscription and I haven't looked back.
I voted for Neil, Astarion's VA, for the Golden Joystick awards. I voted BG3 in every category in the GOTY awards. I don't even have to play the game to enjoy it. YouTube videos, art, memes, hell just daydreaming about the characters and wondering how their stories will play out is enough. It's like a casual obsession lol I'm not glued to the game like I usually am when I am obsessed, this is a whole different thing. I am still on my first playthrough, not past Act 1, and I think I have close to 80 hours already.
The disappointment I felt for TotK has been magnified by BG3. I know they are two different genres, but it had been a breath of fresh air to have such a rich story and a more liner style. I missed it a little. It kinda reminds me of Twilight Princess, my first Zelda game.
this game won't and zelda does, baldurs gate 3 is garbage
Ehh mid
With respect, this is the problem I have literally every single video I've watched advocating for Baldur's Gate 3 winning game of the year. None of the reasons given ever actually have anything to do with gameplay. Call me crazy, but shouldn't the game of the year have the best gameplay? If it was actually a better game then Zelda TotK it seems like you would be explaining how it is better, but that isn't what you or anyone else is doing.
3:00 Turn based games aren't mainstream? bro, have you heard of Pokemon? 😂
We need more different and new games like Baldur's Gate 3 being recognized at the TGA. BG3 is the biggest surprise of 2023 like Skyrim was in 2011. There is nothing like BG3, it is a unique game.
bg3 need and will win without compression and this is from a person live in a world that dnd is not a thing, but I'm sorry Mario and Alan wake !! first of all grow up Mario it a kids game pls in the 3d world like Africa we only played Mario in the old Nintendo before PlayStation was a thing and died there its a game for that time for 90s gen and its a kids game for the new gen ,second no 1 as a gamer in my country Tunisia know wt is alan wake before i saw the second game out and searched to see wt it is about and after i watched it on utube fallowed the story it is a good game ya but nothing special so why the f is nominated ! any who bg3 its special and deserve it.
Errrr 👎
LOL this game gonna fail like eldin ring
Zelda is cool, but Baldur's Gate 3 is perfect. ❤
I wasnt really a big crpg fan either, although I did enjoy Divinity 2. Now I have three different campaigns going in BG3 with more than 300 hours, still going strong. Also, I introduced it to my pops and he said nah doesnt look like my kinda game, but now he cant put it down 😂
