Can you use the slip lead on a wee pug? My rescues of 7 weeks are very reactive they are 6 yrs olds . I’d like to stop it
very good instructional here, mate. Thanks.
Professional dog trainer here: Dog owners must not forget that it takes several hours of concentrated training and repetitions just to reach this basic level.
Please, don't give up after 8 minutes and 17 seconds just because the video ended there. If the results are not there yet – repeat. And when we are speaking of repetitions, we mean hundreds of them.
This is fantastic! I'd love to see how you handle/train a dog that is a little further in the reactivity timeline. I have a year-old doberman-shephard mix (adopted 6 months ago) that is in that whinning/crying reactive phase, but is very friendly with other dogs.
Is a regualr collar alright for the training? I fear i cant afford anything else rn
My goodness he talks too much! Just get to the point! Ugh I think he enjoys hearing himself speak. I wish these trainers were more concise.

Only been trying to achieve this with my rottweiler and bullmastiff for the past 3 years and you have done it in 8 minutes 🤦
Your a genius
And i need help 😂
I do t understand how tf he does it….. my dog has learnt incredibly fast the loose lead walking no problem. She’s perfect on lead but as soon as she sees another dog I literally don’t exist and NOTHING works. Literally nothing, food doesn’t work, snap on the lead doesn’t work, changing direction to do a tune up drill does fuck all, literally everything does nothing. Here we see Will doing just a couple of tune ups with a dog he has no bond with and instantly she’s listening and watching his every move with a fcuking dog stood 15 feet away. WTF?! It’s so frustrating, then I let my emotions get the better of me and lose my temper after trying to be calm as humanly possible.
Doesn’t it hurt their neck or jaw something?
best answer to the reactive situation… Thank you sooooooo much.
I have a 9 kilo terrier that is terrorising every dog he meet. Tiny or huge our Bob will want to jump on it.
Bob is a Covid dog so he had all the time and love from his two mummies. Early training, socialising, we watched videos, we bought books.
Very early he was showing teeth to us but outside he was ok, he had a lot of friends, also puppies that he grew up with.
But then around 8 months he started attacking dogs, thankfully nothing serious ever happened as he is a tiny dog, Parson Terrier / Chihuahua mix.
Our vet said he is healthy but that we should castrate him as soon as possible, so we did around 10 months. And first few weeks he was again our sweet dog that loved being in dog park.
But soon it got worse than it was before. We stopped going to dog park, we stopped seeing his friends that he grew up with.
Different training sessions with different expensive trainers, nothing helped.
I had to accept that my dog is very aggressive and i have to try to avoid what triggers him.
We even moved from our favourite neighbourhood in Berlin into more calm area.
My dog with Anxiety gave me Anxiety. Our walks can turn into a “war zone”
We often walk in cemeteries as they are calm for both of us.
I was checking training booth camps for dogs but read really horrible reviews.
He is now 4 years old and it hurts me so much to see him struggle, to be nervous, to be scared and showing this with aggression.
WHAT MORE CAN I DO PLEASE 😢
Thank you your skills and knowledge and loving too dogs works great and I enjoy using your knowledge
Hi, we have a 4 1/2 month old rescue lurcher " Greyhound/Staffie cross" we think, with no real background info and doesn't have any socializing skills with dogs or people, would this technique work with him.
I have 2 pugs that need training but I don’t think a slip lead is safe for this breed. Are there other leads suitable to get control and show them who’s boss?
I will use these techniques with my rescue cane corso. Shes so lovely with people, but pulls like a train when near dogs, and loses focus on me completely! Because of her breed i cant take the risk to see what she would do, and i desperately want her to have canine companions
How can you help your reactive dog if you don't have a role model dog to help you?
What's weird that she seems completely disinterested in the other dog which to me I find to be extremely unusual even after a training session
So I’ve got two dogs. They are at the point where they can walk nicely alone but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get them to both walk nicely At the same time 😂
Your cardio needs more work than the dog..😂😂😂😂
Dude we just adopted a year old great pry and your videos have been a life saver
Would have been more helpful to see a reactive dog used here as its much easier to correct a non aggressive dog.
I've got so anxious that I am causing it! I took some beta blockers this morning, things were much better, I was focused, and able to stay calm . Best walk ever with a lower heart rate, and the ability to breathe.
I like your approach to this I'm in a similar debacle atm. The redirection is what I'm working on and some of your points help. Thank you
My chihuahua has been like this around other dogs since we got him. Wasn't until today i noticed him being aggressive for the first time. Is there hope for him??
Don't underestimate how much damage a dog who doesnt know better can do, or how quickly. They need to be pack animals, not wild.
I am so frustrated with my 7 year old sheepdog that has started to become crazy around other dogs and also inside the house if somebody walks past the house…..starting to get looks from neigbbours even….tryed everything…..probably this kind of sessions as well but Im gonna try again…
So much talking 😂I fell asleep 😢
I think i need your help with my 6 y old lab cross 😢 im trying so hard but he just doesn’t engage when there is other dogs around making impossible to walk him with kids 😢
omg this dog isnt reactive. it is sitting with a dog next to it. you are training a non reactive dog. if my dog was even half that good i wouldnt be looking for training videos
What if it’s got to the aggression stage?
I just rescued a pit/lab mix. He’s between 1-1.5 years old. He’s loved his entire life in a backyard shed. He is very sweet however very reactive. He barks at other people simply because he wants to jump on them/meet them. He is very sweet but he’s a lot to handle. I’m determined to not give up on him though.
How about small dogs prone to trachea collapse. I am really concerned a slip leash could harm him which would be awful. What other method can be used instead of collar/ slip lead?
