Hey all! It was brought to my attention that there is a performance mode in the demo that I evidently didn't notice. The 30fps comments are therefore not valid, but please consider everything else I said as being something I'm standing behind.
I have an idea of what you meant as representation but not entirely sure? I don't know why but it just sounded out of place. Is she Bi or something?
I thought this played awful. Felt janky as Hell. No depth at all. Nothing to the combat. Feels like you are stuck in the mud when running around. Character is unlikable. Really disappointing. Completely out of touch.
I casually played for 1 hour and just to get the feeling of it and was enough to raise more questions. Not sure if I’m gonna buy it first day…

Not interested and lost interest after the first trailer. Heres the deal Square knew this wasn't going to land well, so it was pushed back, then again and again. But i want people to remember that just because a game is pushed back doesn't mean it will turn out good. Even more so if it's getting pushed back to get the game to run properly and not actually fix what won't be well liked. As much as i like Square, they can't seem to nail games outside their wheelhouse.

The only thing I liked was the music but.. but is the same music on the ps5 Menu, on the logo opening, on the game menu, on the intro story . Always the same music…. and when the demo start I saw elements from the background appearing incorrectly pooping .. graphics are thee same as FF 15. not next gen. I used the jump button and the movent of the character was unnatural. I falled from the bridge and I tried to jump using the pull bottom and was impossible because camera didnt follow… I started to felt seek and I stoped playing. It was the most anticipated game for me. Now I will pass and I even want the game at a lower price. It's really sad. Big disappointing 😞
As I said in a reply below, It's very strange that a PC demo is not available. Are they hiding something about the port quality? It makes me suspicious to say the least. Apart from the issues noted, there is also the really high price point. €80 is already very expensive for a really prime AAA title, but for this title? Most AAA titles are about €50 to €60, and are very rarely around €70. €80 for this title is even €10 above that. making it one of the most expensive titles on Steam. And that's for the "basic" version. The full version is a whopping €105. Even when the port is working flawlessly (witch I doubt because of a missing demo), it's really hard for me to justify buying this title at the current price point. I probably going to wait for a deep, deep sale. And that's a shame, because the game looks very interesting. Oh well….
This is gonna be a train wreck. The early impressions from journos are already lukewarm at best, meaning the game sucks, and they don’t wanna tank it early.
Prediction: the game will release and journos will give it great review “number” scores that don’t match the actual review’s words.
Actual gamers will be more reliable.
It will ultimately be just another random game that’s quickly forgotten.

Ir is not locked at 30. It has 60 with dips or 120mode that feels OK at a lower res
I would just like to point out that according to TGS 2022 announcement of demo version for ps5 there was a fine print stating that game will be exclusive on ps console at least till 23 Jan. 2025.
So timed exclusive.

This demo is like playing through a really BAD CW show, i am so glad Deus Ex isn't stuck under the Square Enix umbrella anymore. The main character threw me off immediately, whoever wrote the dialogue is outta touch with gamers..i had Saints Row 4 flashbacks….all they had to do was tone down the snarky stuff, and the game would have been at least "ok" for a few hours maybe.
the only thing i don’t rlly like ab this game is the delay when u do anything. idk if it’s just me but it’s kinda weird to get used to since usually i don’t play games that have delays like that
I've seen so many videos like this pop up regarding the demo and it's like the person didn't even try to objectively play the game before they went on to tell everyone else about the game. This whole Forspoken saga has been very eye opening.

The demo saved me some money, because until I got to try it I was quietly excited about the game.
I've employed the demo all morning it took me a while to get used to how the magic works but when it all fits this game is very good

when i first saw this game I loved the look and still do but after 25 minutes of that 'dialog' between frey and cuff i wanted to switch the game off. Im hoping when it comes to the real game it will feel earned and we can see them both grow.
Im not even sure ill finish the demo as its likely to put me off even and I think id rather just wait for the full game which ill likely pick up probably later in the year (its a very stacked period they have chosen to release which could be a killer for this game).
I think I’d have preferred this as a turn-based rpg. I hate the combat. But I haven’t liked kingdom hearts since the first game either, so…! Seems like everything square does now has to either have kingdom hearts combat or a game of thrones story. Or both (ff16). Feel like I aged out of the company I grew up on
Really had a lot of fun with this demo. I actually really appreciate that this was a slice from later in the game. I want demos to give me a sense of how the whole game plays, not just the intro, and having more of the later move set available to try was great. There's a large amount of accessibility options that i was happy to see, though it's a shame that button mapping was not one of them. Here's hoping they patch that in. Still, with the trigger effects on you have no reason to pull them fully, a tap will suffice, so "tiring your fingers out" should be the last of your concerns. And of course, the obligatory "not capped at 30, there's multiple display options"
Gameplay looks like FFXV which I should suspect from square enix. Happy to see a new ip and a poc protagonist (not that I mind the generic fair skinned male cuz that's who I grew up with). I just hope the humor isn't cringy gen z stuff.
