Aonic appoints former Larian UK boss Arthur Mostovoy as head of games

Aonic has named former Larian UK studio head Arthur Mostovoy as its new head of games.

The company said Mostovoy will oversee its entire portfolio of titles across all platforms to help its teams “deliver the best possible games to players.”

Mostovoy recently worked on award-winning RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 at Larian. He spent over five years at the studio, having initially joined in September 2019.

On Linkedin, Mostovoy said he was responsible for running and growing the UK studio to consistently deliver “best-in-class” RPGs while “empowering people to produce great creative things.”

Prior to his stint at Larian, Mostovoy served as general manager of mobile game developer Azur Interactive Games and spent almost three years working as a producer at My.Games subsidiary studio Pixonic. At Pixonic he worked on mobile title War Robots, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

“After nearly six amazing years at Larian, I can’t wait to dive into this new role at Aonic,” said Mostovoy. “There’s so much to be excited about happening throughout our teams, across platforms, audiences and genres.

“We are entering a golden age of indies and small teams, resulting in some incredibly creative games. The market share for small and indie teams is growing year on year, and this will continue. My role at Aonic is to support these teams in creating and delivering creative titles that can make a major impact.”

Aonic currently has multiple projects in development across its various subsidiaries, including Thick As Thieves (OtherSide Entertainment), Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults (BKOM Studios), FRENZIES (nDreams), Lou’s Lagoon (Tiny Roar) and Transformers: Tactical Arena (Red Games Co.).

Company co-founder and chief product officer Olliver Heins said Mostovoy has been hired to help build something “truly exciting.”

The comments come just a few months after Aonic secured €152 million to support its studios and finance acquisitions.

Months prior to that investment, the company laid off 17.5 percent of workers at subsidiary VR studio nDreams.
