Fecking ay.
And this company, Matagot, does NOT support their games after you buy them if they've been out more than 40 seconds.
Seems like it would be great with some house rules modifications?
Ouch!
Fucken brilliant…
The review is funny but the opinion is a steaming pile of shit. The game is great.
I kickstartered the game and I quite like it. I love the idea of the fame track and that one must think about whether to place a die or to leave it for potential better defense. However, this slows down the game so much, not to talk about the iconography. The icon searching is simply butthurting and sooo tedious and time consuming 🙈. You know, I am german and I like the idea of language-independence, because I don't want to risk missing womething just because of the language barrier (and I can play the games with non-english-speaking people). However, I feel like this game (and many other games these days) want to be language-independent at all costs (and because of the costs, let's be realistic here… 😅). And that destroys sooo many games. Just like this one. Just imagine the weapon cards with text on it describing the symbols instead of just showing them. That would make the game sooo much quicker – all the icon searching would be gone. How sweet the game would be then! Well, I even thought about printing the cards in german with describing text on them and to put them into sleeves. That would be a lot of work, but I am quite on the edge to take it. That's how much I like the idea and the overall design. I guess, we'll see.
However, thank you very much for your honest review. I am also quite angry about the game and how they overdone it with icons and all that – but I still want to like the game sooo much… and in fact I quite do like it nevertheless 😅
Cheers, Julian
Great review. When a game makes you wait 45 minutes between turns in a 6 player game you know it has some problems.
I think where we are similar is that we just really don’t have time for unnecessary complications in games. We don’t want to spend the majority of the experience checking icons, resolving long winded phases, spending time weighing up every possible outcome with dice placement. We just despise fiddliness and clunky (hate those words) mechanics that spoil the game. Sold this unplayed because I didn’t look forward to teaching it let alone playing it.
Well I guess this one is FIRED. Time to RELOAD. (Sorry couldn’t resist)
FRAG by steve jackson games, dose first person shooter mechanics in a board game well, the game is fairly basic but very playable and fun, you are just moving your standee/miniature around various maps picking up weapons, armor, power ups represented by a deck of cards, then basically you are rolling lots and lots of 1d6's to try and "frag" the other players. I have the original release of FRAG in my collection + expansions and metal miniatures, now out of print. The game was republished a few years back in a big yellow box (that I don't own) though this version is also out of print, FRAG is worth a look/play if you are able to find a copy of the game on the second hand market.
Nice video. Is there a similar game that you would prefer? What about writing your own house rules to fix the game. I'm not normally into house rules but if the situation calls for it.
This appears to have been about as welcome as a fart in a space suit. It's not my kind of game, and I have never played it, so it would be unfair to pass any personal judgement but it's lack of popularity or fanfare speaks volumes.
Amazing review, it's a breath of fresh air having someone pan a game, YouTube board game reviewers usually just say every game they play is amazing.
A dead giveaway for a catchpenny KickShitter project is the release of 3 “expansions” simultaneously with the base game.
I have saved gazillions of pounds with the simple mantra ‘I don’t do Kickstarter’ and on only a few occasions have I felt that I actually missed out on something.
Everyone I played it with liked it. I think it's also about the group you play with…
I had a couple games recently with just a crazy amount of icons that just ruined the game
Great review. Felt you were holding back in places.
This guy is the best
I fuckin hated Adrenaline, and this looks to be a drunken reimplementation of that shitshow so I’m glad you braved the storm in order to save us all the headache of learning this pile so we didn’t have to.
Also, I like Fortnite, so I was excited to try this. But fuck this luckfuckingdicefest.
My weekly pick me up 🤣🤣🤣
Great vid. My kids fuck about on fortfuckinnight all the time. The idea of playing that on the table is as stresful an idea as I can imagine. So glad you named it dogdirt.
Thank you for a concise and honest review of this nightmare of a game 😁
Yea kinda knew this was going to be meh when I saw a live playthrough
Damn, the cover is so pretty though 😂 but I appreciate you always giving it to us straight! And god you’re funny to watch dude haha my new favorite board game reviewer because of all your quips! 💕
