I have a five month old GSD … he is scattered! Listens one time, blows me off the next. He gets excited and just goes wild, then he turns sweet and loving. Split personality ! I can't recall either of the two GSDs my parents had being this way. I train with him daily. IT is always a mixed bag. He almost seems hyperactive at times! He gets lots of exercise, I feed him well with Royal Canin and I think he has a split personality … but Darn it … I will not give up! SMH

I had a border colly, that was a shadow. She was always within a few meter from me. The most impossible command for her was stay. She panicked if I went out of sight. Would love to have a German Sheppard but I live on a boat and my land-transport is a GL1800 motor trike. My 15 year jack-Russel/mops X-breed sit in a special motor-bench on the passengers seat.
My dog is full time ZOOMER. She is so hyper and yes she gets plenty of love and had training. Her attention span is…well she does look for instructions but she is like a helicopter mom lol she is just in your face and super active like she has ADHD like the tv commercial with BACON!!!!! That describes my dog 😂
What are your favorite treats to use for training..? My gs doesn’t seem to be food driven and is stubborn.. he’s 8 weeks and right when I think we are getting great progress his stubbornness comes out.

Back again aftet 6 months of watching this when I first got my gsd. She is so distracted again after 2 heat cycles. Ugh! I am looking for touch pads and cant find them online. Yours looks like water bowls or food bowls.

I'm so amazed that not even 5 minutes into the video he described my dog perfectly. She is not only a stubborn breed but even with the best dominance tactic and training and implementatipn of both reward and punishment she simply gets so easily distracted. She will get lost simply because of her nose. EASILY distracted. Im so glad im seeing this video to help me rectify anything i can. Love your videos!

This is my shepsky exactly! Doggy ADD. He also really struggles with Dog aggression. I’m not sure what to do about that. I’ve had him for a month and it’s not gotten better.
I sometimes wonder if dogs can have pica… he constantly needs to have his mouth on something which is a breed thing at times but other times I wonder if it's a coping mechanism.
This one helped a great deal. Also cured me of expecting instant results!
What interests me during this process is that he does not look subdued. Even with the E collar, he still has his own stance, not his head dropping, not sadly disconnected.
Lol my amazing Tarley lives the flyby. We both find it lots of fun! It's hilarious. He does come back. I want him to have fun, but I realise we have to contain some behaviour for socialisation. This is great Thankyou!

Can you use a ball to train your dog? My German shepherd is not treat driven at all she could not care less! I have even skipped one of her meals to try and get her a bit more hungry for it but it doesn’t work. Her favourite ball she will go nuts for though
This came up at the perfect timing for me! I have a 10 months old Beauceron and he's the largest and most driven dog I've ever owned. He's about 80lbs right now and has no idea of his own strength! He doesn't pull on the leash and has great recall, but he's like the dog in the video in that he doesn't stay focused on me when we train anymore. He used to be so focused and attentive, but the past month-month and a half I've had loads of trouble with this. I train everyday and go to classes twice a week, but have been reluctant to use ecollars or anything else above a flat collar, really. I'm getting to think my dog needs better tools. I've only had Portuguese Water Dogs so far and competed in Obedience and Agility, but this dog is more challenging. I do believe in balanced training though and your methods are your philosophie look like it would work on my big baby.
