Yeah fuck this game. Really regret this purchase. I even tried using some mods which in theory should make it easier. Also game looks like crap for how it performs. Also game has RTX but no HDR like WTF.
The scorpion lord had me pissed for a good hour!? I was so happy when i beat him, just to find out he helps you fight the final boss of that area! Smh 🤦🏾♂️
The Duskveil almost made me quit, but it was such a well designed encounter that i couldn't. Love this game.
2 tier Boss at the beginning of the game got me to spend hours to upgrade. 😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Nope! I've watched other Youtubers that claim to be "Elden Ring Pros" break their controller over this game, Looking at you AfroSenju XL😆😆😆.
It is definitely a challenge…….I'm going to get it😎🤘…….I'm a Sucker for Awesome visuals and Black Myth Wukong is a visual Masterpiece 😊👌
PS: I'm an Ultra Casual gamer😆😆😆
I bought the game at the start of this month, gave up out of frustration 7 hours in…decided to come back to it last week, and ended up beating it today. I'm glad I did–it reminded me that if I keep fighting, I can eventually get through whatever I'm struggling with–and I really needed that reminder right now.
When ever I start to question my skills in a game like this, my first thought is "Come back when exhausted. When you're about to pass out. Keep fighting for several more hours until you're gonna drop." Cus when I do that, my mind set is if I can reach phase 2 or get them to half health when I physically can't stay awake anymore. I know for a fact I can beat them when fully awake. I did it with Malenia, and Erlang Shen. If I'm gonna suffer death after death, and question am I bad? I'm gonna prove myself wrong by physically being unable to continue in real life.
I love this game
i gave up on lies of p
I’d be super interested to see you do lore videos on Wukong!
The only boss i looked up how others beat was erlan sheng.
She literally listed every cheese build in Elden Ring 😂😂
Lore of How this game forced me to get good. | Black Myth: Wukong review momentum 100
removed it from my wishlist
I had an absolute blast with Black Myth Wukong. I play games as difficult as possible, I just find it more rewarding and satisfying since I enjoy challenging myself. There were a few moments in my initial playthrough where I was getting frustrated. Mostly, with Yellowbrow since he was the most obnoxious boss in the entire game. Every other boss was overall great. The Erlang fight was the most epic boss fight ever.
Everything about this game was absolutely perfect. Loved the interactive paintings at the end of every level. The cinematics were incredible. Chapter 4 had me in all of the feels. Hands down my pick for GOTY.
I don't like when a game that has 20 hours' content lasts 100 just because 80% of it is mere trial & error of the same fights over and over again. It's just boring, frustrating and a time waste.
I enjoyed only chapter 1 as that was quite nicely balanced between challenge and fun, most bosses could be done in 1 to 3 attempts and that is what I like in a game. Difficulty just suddenly spiked from easy/normal to nightmare mode in chapter 2 and I quit in the middle of chapter 3 as the game changed completely and the nice chilled action game I was playing turned into just another damn souls-like.
The marketing and many reviews (made from people who probably just went through chapter 1 and lied about having completed the game) were totally misleading. Luckily I got the game for free from Nvidia on the purchase of my graphics card. If I bought it I'd be really annoyed.
This game needs to add difficulty setting. Not everyone wants to play very hard mode
I don't usually play these games as well so I had to really get good
I love Monkey King. I have been an FPS player since birth, never played any GOW, not any soulslike-ish. Played, Metal Gear, Far Cry, PUBG, Warzone & NBA2K25, but I'm one of those gamers who played this game the first 5 hours after it launched. I remember fighting the Black Bear for 9 hours straight nakedly without knowing any mantles or what. When I finished the game I went back to grinding my FPS games then went back to playing just last night, and I was surprised I beat Cyan long in 1 try without knowing it. It's true, this game will force you to be better. Planning to play this game til BO6 comes.
Give me story mode is CRAZY 😭
Exactly the same as you in fact.I Am worse , never got more than 10 minutes into a Dark Souls game. Have barely managed to do much in Elden Ring outwith beating up soldiers. Haven't even tried Lies Of P and yet I am currently on the final boss in Wukong I should beat him today. I will now return to Elden Ring trying to take what I have learned and will use guides when I get stuck.
So do you have any advice for anyone who's also struggling to 'get' the rhythm of the combat between the limited canceling windows, unresponsive feeling input, how easy it is to get stun locked / interrupted , and unclear telegraphs (currently stuck at Non Able)?
U gotta play bloodborne now
I played god of war and beat it on the hardest difficulty including Gna and this game still was tuff asf for me as well took me 60 hours to get everything and the true ending
So level grinding is mid game, but definitely a thing – the cocoon farm at the Jade Pool in Chapter 4.
I was 184 when I took out Erlang & the Great Sage's Broken Shell – which was far easier than the Tiger Vanguard for me.
Wonderful dissertation on the value of the challenge that BMW presents. I'm currently on break from countless attempts at felling Yellow Loong – that fight has made me adapt build several times, each one getting a little closer. Had to give up bc sleep is a thing lol. I'll get him, and it'll be so worth it. Thanks for sharing your insight.
I'm still not finished the game. I'm soon to fight the level 3 boss. Yellow Loong was my most challenging boss battle so far. Took me hours to beat him. Despite how long it took, I really appreciate how his fighting style or combos changed the closer to his defeat. BMW, Sekiro and God of War aka Dad of War are my favorite types of games.
This is awesome – congrats on the accomplishment, seriously 🙂
I’ve avoided souls-like games despite knowing I need to dive in (I know I’d like them). So this is my first.
I’ve been getting my ass kicked. I’m in chapter 3 and way overlevelled due to the time I’m taking.
But I’m loving it in every way. And I strongly disagree with forcing a preferred difficulty level. If they did, you and I wouldn’t be having this experience with the game.
And it’s also okay that not every game is made for every gamer.
“A game for everyone is a game for no one”
I think a lot of the problems stems from gaming companies have gone very easy on difficulty levels when it comes to games that it's trained a lot of people into playing in that style. A good example of one of my friends bought Skiro I think of the name basically the game is relied heavily on counter attacks, combos, dodging, etc. he's never played a counteract system because he's not a fighting game fanatic so it was fairly new to him. He hated it. He felt that the game just wasn't fun. Anything that people have to put a heavy effort into it. I think turns some off because they don't want to in reality. They need to be pointed into a direction, a good example of telling somebody. Hey, if you're playing stellar blade, you really wanna master combos, escapes and pay attention to the enemy as well as doing counter attacks, and the game starts to make sense.
Patience is a Virtue
Good round up of the game – that is exactly how I feel.
I am 58, reflexes of a squashed vegetable, It took me 96,2 hrs to complete,
perhaps its because I grew up with monkey on uk tv, but this is most probably my most enjoyed game (and i have been around since atari bat n ball), and the sense of achievement i felt is unknown to me for a game like this
I don't have that much time or desire to spend on this game. Me and all people who I know played this game – we all finished it with trainers.
First game to whip me in the shape was sekiro
I’ve never had to switch up my build so often to over come some of these bosses. This game is tough but definitely feels rewarding when you beat a boss.
sister I understand you this game forced me to enter the treasure kingdom and after a long time I made it out and found enlightenment by entering an itachi-like state, finding peace within myself and managing to unlock the ultra instinct which allows me to analyse the opponent first in order to avoid all attacks before I sell my soul or buy a new joystick. my masters of enlightenment are yinyang tiger, erlang and wukong I am now playing through the game for the third time and can only say hang in there, chosen one
Got two Jobs only get two days off and still managed to reach NG++ and lvl 300 .. that’s how much I love this game definitely deserving of GOTY
