They ran out of ways to make lenses better so now we're making them worse on purpose 😂
Please do a review on the 7artisans EF-SE adaptor! Its been a long time coming!
Nice review, I just got mine for M43 yesterday and am playing around with it. Very interesting so far and of course low light is not good understandably. I have a similar lens arriving in a couple of days for my E mount A6000 and A5100 bodies. Will be a nice comparison. I also plan to do the DIY make my own out of a Fuji and/or Kodak disposable cameras and a spare lens cap just as something fun to do. I already know that will be grossly inferior due to those lenses are plastic but again just doing it for fun.
It has that disposable camera aestetic! A strong film simulation and a harsh flash could show intresting results
7Artisans weren’t the first to make a body cap lens. Olympus already got there with a 15mm f8 and a 9mm again f8 the latter being a semi-fisheye type, which is remarkably very sharp. The 15mm not so, and rated by DXO as the worst lens ever made! As a pro photographer I’ve used the 9mm at events, and the client blew the image right up and it still looked great. Both also have focussing levers and hyperfocal settings which are quite useful for street photography.
I really like using it for black and white outdoor photography. It seems to fit that role pretty well.
How much of the APSC sensor does it cover? Full with the minor vignetting you mentioned or did you have the crop the black areas?
I really like the look of this lens. I’m into vintage lens and I already have a f1.6 35mm that’s super soft. I’m looking into a cheap wide angle lens for vacationing. The sharpness of this lens contrasts my other lens and I won’t have to worry about focus so it’s easier for candid shots.
what lav mic do you use please ?
Not even manual focus darn.
It is what it is, a lens/camera cap. I agree it can also be a nice gift for a photographer friend (after the novelty wears out).
70$ is way too much, 20-30, no more
lol, i should just replace my sensor cap with this
The result is not that bad actually
Arthur R, Your CMOS is dirty~~~haha. may be this lens is our CMOS clean or not checker!
Surprisingly the photos are not bad at all! It is like transforming your camera in a iPhone
Don‘t you think this lens is thought for landscape photography?
I would love to have cheap Hologon.
Might buy one of these for my Canon M5, but, if I do, the first thing I do will be to get a sharpie and black out the ridiculous clock numerals.
hey, since you already made a video of one, could you make videos about the other NEX cameras?
i would like to hear your opinion on them!
Photos look flat like they were made by some low end xiaomi phone 😂😂
Great review
This might make a good lens my a6300 and my small gimbal.
Awesome family great job dad
For APS-C at least, I can't see the benefit over the 20mil Sony pancake… perhaps a little less expensive, but the sony is AF and f2.8 while being basicly the same size of this; non-existant.
Agent Mulder likes this lens and recommends it for everyone
I was going to say it would make a good wide lens for video. Then you did the chasing the kid sequence. Pretty good.
Looks like a fun Lens to use on one of the cheap second-hand A3000 for Timelapses or B-Roll stuff.
On a regular Camera for pictures and more meaningful stuff: I would spend half the money on a Minolta / Rokkor Lens and call it a day.
This screams for "fire and forget" like "Webcam / Livestreaming" or Timelapse / Remote camera that you just setup and don't need to dial anything in.
