I don't consider this dog shit cannon. It destroyed the magic of Alien.
I didn't like the idea of the engineers having a humanoid appearance at all, far from what I imagined they should be, with "trunks" like space elephants. But the worst thing was this relationship between them and humans, and the general stupidity of the characters, who make countless absurd mistakes and have no charisma whatsoever.
Prometheus sucked
I don’t think Prometheus is a bad movie, it’s just an absolute shit “alien” movie. Because no one had the balls to look at Riddly and say “No that’s stupid” he surrounded himself with yes men, fools, and people too timid to speak out. The result? A confusing mess of a film that asked so so many questions no one wanted answers to and left the franchise in shambles.
3:56 Spared no expense on the ship then shit the bed on adding any means for attack/defense with rockets or guns. Which I find odd seeing it carried a VIP on board, Mr. Weyland. Love this channel btw.
What's infinitely interesting to me is how the space jockey/engineer marveled at David. He regarded David like a masterful work of art, then tore him to pieces. He barely even ackowledged Weyland as being there before crushing his head. He knew David was astonishingly special, perhaps even more special than himself. He gazed at him lovingly, even. Almost like he was proud for having been among the originals that lead to the creation of such a perfect being. Alas, he(space jockey) likely swore an oath before accepting his position, to destroy any lifeforms he came across. I mean they carried the xenomorph parasite in bio-weapon form. Of course their main objective was to destroy intelligent life on any planet/moon they traveled to.
I always wanted Trent Reznor to score an alien (xenomorph) film. Unrelated comment, but that's what I want. Specifically, a Downward Spiral type sound. Shit, I just pull tracks off the record and play them during Prometheus (hey, related, would you look at that). Much better movie. Thanks for the evil corporate notes. Full immersion is dope.

SOOOO many people hate on Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. For some reasons I totally get why. But they’re both enjoyable movies, and Prometheus and Alien: Covenant showed some cool shit. Overall I liked both of them. They’re not even close to as good as alien and aliens, but still they’re good movies

There's something that seems like a plot hole on the surface that needs to be examined more.
The story opens with what we assumed to be one of the engineers seeding life on earth by sacrificing himself with the black goop.
Then we fast forward to the humans painting pictures of the stars.
The plot hole here is that there is no apparent interaction between the engineers and the early humans for them to have any idea whatsoever that their origin would have been that star cluster.
I have my own theories but please,
