Dropping the resolution and using the system built-in FSR helps a lot mantaining 40fps.
Playing Elden Ring in bed is priceless.
Elden Ring with Shadow of the erdtree dlc on the go is amazing!
Elden ring is the best game to play on steam deck in my opinion, I got a pretty solid 40fps and played the entire game to completion on the deck, it’s truly an awesome experience
Did you use proton experimental or hotfix
Nice did you used the 64gb or other version?
Well done, you covered a lot aspects about the issues while playing the game and one thing that impresses me is the fact that a device like this is able to handle Elden Ring.
5:19 if you're prone to fits of rage so much so that would break even a controller, you shouldn't play video games. You should be in counseling.
This is first video I've clicked 'thumbs down' in over 4 months. Why? because of the adverts, far Far FAR too many adverts. no thanks, bye
My gtx 1080 gets 20-40 fps in elden ring 💀 get the same performance on a deck that’s fkn crazy
Why aren't you using the buttons at the back of the controller instead of the face buttons?
If you are somebody prone to fits of rage where you are throwing stuff across the room get some help. 😂

Oh my goodness LOL am I the weird one? From my perspective, you are claw-gripping goofy-style, with your index finger on B. …
Please, will someone tell me they also use their thumb on B while controlling the joystick with their index finger? My brother does, too, and we've been doing it this way for over 15 years
My biggest concern is the controller aspect of the deck over time. Like drift and sticky buttons happen, but even a Switch has joycons as separate pieces which can be replaced. If you're steam deck stops reading inputs that solution isn't really there.
Is online is viable on the steam deck for this game?
these long AAA games seem like awful choices for a handheld with 1.5 hr battery life; either you're tethered to a power source (and defeating the purpose of handheld) or you're limited to playing 1.5 hrs a day which will make your playthrough take forever. I want to be able to bang out 5 hour sessions from time to time.
I'll stick to console, where I still get the benefit of playing on my couch or in bed but without the performance and screen downgrades nor the battery issues.
I'm just glad it runs as well as it does. I have a next gen console and played like 500hrs+ there, now I can help out my buddies on PC using my steam deck. Im just hoping that my Razer raiju doesn't have really bad input lag.
If you're prone to throwing things in fits of rage go to therapy.
I gotta ask what usb c cable you're using
I specifically chose to play on my deck while also having a pretty good pc. Just the luxury of being able to play in bed or outside of the house is more than enough to warrant the downgrades. I also just wanted to add that using the FSR features greatly improved how consistent the frames are, I very rarely see dips even in the scenarios you gave. I've put about 70 hours in my run so far and its been a great experience.
well, actually loading times on Steam deck are faster than on my PS4 pro 😂
Been playing this a lot tonight. Runs pretty decent even on high settings.
But since I have a gaming PC I like to stream it with max settings 💪
You can easily get locked 30fps in this
thanks for this, i’ll stick with the ps5
I would never play Elden Ring on the Deck for sure then lol! I don't throw my controllers but sometimes I squeeze them a bit tight when I'm frustrated lol! I don't think that squeezing a 400$ + device is good for said device 🤣! There's a reason why I don't play the Souls like games and that's one of them! But it's still impressive that it can run the game at all! Let alone perform well! Great video and keep up the good work!
Do you still get use out of your switch now that you have your steam deck? I love my switch, I have this feeling that I might mostly use the steam deck though when I get it in Q3. I have a lot of switch games so dividing the time definitely will be it’s own challenge.
