At Munich High End Danish audio company Dali took the covers off its flagship subwoofer, and much like the Marvel superhero Thor, it is mighty.
Dali say they built the V-16F subwoofer without any compromises and ranks it as its most powerful subwoofer yet, offering “ceiling-shaking bass” and the ability to fill large rooms as well “precision and control” that allows it to work just as well in smaller rooms.
Trusted Reviews was there at Dali’s press event to have a look at the new subwoofer, and while we didn’t get to hear it, we did see it in the flesh and it is a big one.
Back-breakingly heavy
Tipping the scales at 53kg, you’ll need a few people to help shift this sub into the right place. We can only imagine we saw the shell of the actual subwoofer since it was on the first floor of the Motorworld complex. If it wasn’t a shell, then we salute the employees at Dali for not breaking their backs lifting the thing.

In terms of the technical details, it features a wideband, low-loss design with what Dali describes as “extremely low harmonic and non-harmonic distortion” for a more accurate reproduction of bass frequencies.
It’s capable of “ultra-low signal latency”, so should be nimble and agile to handle Hans Zimmer scores and Denis Villenueve’s Dune films.
1500W of home cinema power
There’s 1500W of Class-D power amplification behing the V-16F subwoofer, and 2500W at its peak. A wireless soundbar system such as the Samsung Q990D has 656W of power for all of its speakers, to give you an idea of the power this subwoofer packs.
There’s also a Room Attenuation mode that compensates for the room the subwoofer is in to deliver the most optimal bass performance. You can set up the Room Annenuation mode on the V-16F’s set-up interface. Cinema, Music and Boost modes will help to further tune the subwoofer’s sound in the way you want for your home cinema set-up.
We mentioned that the Dali V-16F would break your back in terms of moving it. It’ll also break your bank balance too, at a cost of £4499 / €4999. Home cinema fans after a big bass performance can expect the V-16F subwoofer to launch July 2025.
