2. Don't be afraid to sleep frequently.
3. Paladin is the strongest early game
4. Half-Orc if he dies in a fight he will be resurrected automatically with 1 point in HP. Very useful
5. Keep all the the magical equipment. You will need it to "feed" someone.
6. Karlach is the best companion.
7. Play 2nd playthrough with Dark Urge . Is another game .

You don't need to beat him to get his sword in the beginning. Just use "command", drop weapon. There are two companions of his that will show up and demolish your team by the time you're able to defeat him, because it's so hard to hit him. If you're able to defeat him, the Mindflayer helping you fight him will then turn on you.
