The Nothing Phone 3 is coming in July, and the company is teasing the launch with a series of social media posts, including one highlighting a big change for the series.
The latest couple of posts on X (formerly Twitter) reveal a couple of key details about the upcoming phone. One post says “it’s all in the details” alongside a close-up image of what could be the back of the phone.
Another post reveals that the signature light-up Glyphs – which have been a hallmark of Nothing’s design since the launch of the Nothing Phone 1 – will be eliminated, likely to either save some space inside or to create a more minimalist look.
The company has included glyphs in all of its models since, including the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro which were released in March 2025. The brand’s cheaper entries had fewer lights than the pricier models, but the functionality was typically similar. However, it seems the company is going for a more understated look with this model.
This is the right decision
This is a big change for the brand, but for me it’s the right choice. While the Glyph UI was a neat, headline-grabbing feature for the new brand, trying to make a splash in a crowded market, it is no longer required.

Nothing has shown it can craft some of the best cheap phones and best mid-range phones around, and having to always have this slightly gimmicky collection of LED lights on the back was also going to end up being limiting.
What else can we expect from Nothing Phone 3?
Reports suggest the Phone 3 will be powered by a high-end Snapdragon, while there will likely be an upgraded camera system with a new main sensor.
However, with that enhanced hardware comes a higher price. During the Android Show I/O, Nothing’s Carl Pei revealed the price of the Phone 3 would be around £800 in the UK. That’s a significant increase from the Phone 2’s starting price of £580.
That price point suggests Nothing is looking to compete with some of the very best phones on the market, like the iPhone 16 and Galaxy S25.
