I got one yesterday with a horseshoe. I didn't realize how uncommon the name and the piercing is because I mentioned it online and professionals keep laughing at me for calling it that, but my piercer was very familiar with it so I didnt expect that reaction lol.
Just got mine done on the 14th for my 18th year. Sobriety birthday in love with it more and more. Each day if you're contemplating on getting it. I would say do it, but make sure you talk to your piercer. Like you said, to see if you have the right anatomy.
I want get a UFO piercing done in my right ear and I think that it would look awsome with my 3 month old conch to conch industrial piercing 😁
Damn I want this 😍 I wonder if I could find a piercer for it 😅
Thank you so much. I got a UFO a few weeks ago. The piercing part didnt hurt much at all (not any more painful any other cartilage piercing) but when she had to pull the jewelry through it was EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL. It took more than 5 minutes (probably an exaggeration but it felt like an eternity) to get it through and it was so swollen and wouldnt stop throbbing after. I couldnt smile for days because the ocularis muscles would pull on the forward helix part of the piercing. I have a high pain tolerance so i cant imagine how painful it would be for others. I cant recommend this piercing to anyone unless they have a high pain tolerance bc it is THAT painful. It was easily at least an 8/10 on the pain scale. The healing process is very easy, no harder than any other cartilage piercing. The “difficult” part is just how long it takes which is no problem bc u just have to clean it with saline twice daily. I dont thibk the part of it being bumped very easily is true. Its nestled in the ear enough that it wont get touched and youre able to sleep on it with minimal discomfort. Sleeping on it has caused some more swelling but thats expected with any piercing. Long comment, but i hope some people interested in getting this piercing foudn this helpful. If you really want it, dont let my experience stop you!
update: i got a nasallang piercing. the jewelry insertion of the UFO hurt wayyyyy more than than the nasallang.
Had mine a month ago and I have to say, for me the most painful thing about getting this piercing was the moment when my piercer put in the piece of jewelry.
It never really got too swollen and has been surprisingly easy to take care of, if you don't count in the fact that it's a really tight place and sometimes a little hard to reach.
But yeah, I do love this, looks really cool ❤
Could someone tell me how tf I clean this? Q-Tips dont help at all.
Ive had mine for years. While I love it, it was honestly the most painful experience I've ever willingly sat through. Had some issues during the process and the piercer was amazed i didnt give up. 🫣 it also took over a year to heal with my diabetes.
My piercer did a forward helix and rook piercing at the same time, but still separately. Once both are healed up, then she'll connect the two with a ring. I suppose that's the way most do it to prevent major irritation and ensure that it heals properly without messing with the tissue.
I just got one 😁 it was the first time my piercer did it. I felt it, it took about 15 minuten and 2 people to get it right but i'm very happy with it
I want this piercing, but I'm concerned about the position because I wear glasses and behind-the-ear hearing aids.
I just got this piercing and, after watching this video so many times for months, both my piercer and I were SHOCKED that my double helix hurt more than this.
He did it with a curved bar instead of a hoop, and it came out SO NICE. I'm excited for when it fully heals ♡
Hi Scott, I love your videos. I am hoping to find a piercer that can do this as I love it and I think I have the right ear anatomy (I am in Brisbane, Australia). I have messaged a few so far showing a picture and all have said no. Hopefully I can find someone who can do them 🤞Do you think there is a reason piercers here won’t do it?
That is so incredibly unique I didn't even know you could do this
Well Scott, now I want two.
I am hoping my piercer says I have the right anatomy on both sides so I can get it done when my recent upper ear piercings are fully healed.
I've had my rook pierced for 20 years so would this piercing if put through my existing rook have an easier time healing?
Hi Scott, I’m a moderately new piercer, I just love all the information you give us, I recommend subscribing to you to all my clients. I have a couple of questions I wanted to ask, is there any other way to contact you? Thanks Sarah 😀
What about trimix piercings? Asked a piercer about this not knowing that it already exist and she said that it is very hard to pierce 3 holes and make them line up. But is it possible with the right atonomy? It looks so cool
This piercing is about to get a LOT more common. Sign me up!
Can you do a video on coinslots? Very curious about how those work lol
I don't think I have the right anatomy for this, and it would probably clash with my other piercings, but I really want this one now 😭
