I just would like to share that though it all seems completely convincing, I personally would not choose to put a pet into a crate. Otherwise, all of it makes good sense. Dogs need to learn to get along with their owners. They need to earn trust and security and would then be rewarded with what proves a transfer of love….food…nourishment.

This dog is so calm compared to mine when she’s trying to get out of her kennel! She claws at the door with both paws rattling the cage so loudly that if I made a calm sound like you did in the video, there’s no way she would even hear it. I try to raise my voice louder than what she’s doing, but that doesn’t help either. I’ve tried walking away and leaving the room until she calms down, but she just gets more frantic, even if there’s still food in her bowl in her kennel. Any suggestions?

Easy don,t put them in a create how would you like being put in a create . I,ve had dogs all my life and never had a create mostly Boxer dogs . If you have not got the time or love don,t have a dog . And yes I worked all my life and trained them .

It seems like most of the videos you are working with dogs that bark a lot when the owner leaves. I wonder if the approach should be the same for dogs who do great when you leave but if you are home and near them thats when they get really loud?? I just got a puppy and he sleeps super well and settles when we leave but if we are home and he can see us he goes wild.

We have an open living room kitchen, our crate is always in our living room.
Put yourself in the crate and you'll know why they whine. Become a good leader and watch Cesar Millan YouTube videos around separation anxiety instead. There is no need for a crate if you get the training you need to bring out the best in them. It takes a master to know a master and that is why I recommend him. This is very good advise but there is no need to imprison a dog if you have the proper training yourself. I recognize a crates benefit for getting a new or feral animals to the vet.'s but they are unnecessary when you have the tools to get the pets to remain calm under any circumstances. May the proper training for yourself be with you… for your pet's sake. I'm almost never on these sites so I won't see any responses. I hope someone wondering what to do watches Cesar Millan, even around crates.

I don't know if it's because of her breed, with her being a hunting dog, and inherently being a bit more independent, brave, and stubborn since in the future she'll be hunting, deer and boar. I'm having a real difficult time getting her to do any training honestly. I'm hoping that by the 9th and 10th week she'll start to listen more.
