For casual gamers or people who don't play games at all who bought Hogwarts Legacy just because they're fans of Harry Potter, this game is perfect.
But as someone whose main hobby is gaming, I'm able to see MANY areas where Hogwarts Legacy falls flat. The HP fan in me is reeling with joy because of all the fanservice and wish fulfillment instilled in me since childhood, wanting to see the world come to life, but as a game in and of itself, Hogwarts Legacy is pretty shallow compared to a lot of "action RPGs" out there. I'd be comfortable comparing it to the newer Assassin's Creed games but even those had minigames to supplement immersion. Besides looking at and watching all the amazing details, Hogwarts Castle and every other environment have nothing to do in it/interact with besides eating/drinking random food items and finding collectibles. Like a museum – "look but don't touch."
Combat is super engaging and fun, but there's a terrible lack of enemy variety. You'd think with the abundance of dangerous magical creatures in the HP universe, we'd be able to fight them, but we get the standard cookie-cutter classes of RPG enemies: wolves, trolls, spiders, toads, magic-users, etc. Plus, dialogue choices, Hogwarts house, use of Unforgivable Curses and dark magic don't affect the story at all. Hell, NPCs don't even react to the player's dark magic when you use it in front of them.
All in all, Hogwarts Legacy is great because we HP fans finally have a game where we can walk around in the world and see the magic for ourselves. However as an RPG, it's shallow. After the honeymoon phase, all I can sense is that this had a lot of potential to be more than what it currently is.

Just a suggestion for future videos: Focus more on answering the question in your title. I would have loved to hear why you do/don't think certain features make this game better or worse than similar games.

But if you dig in to why these features might do it better/worse than other games by making comparisons, it'll help me understand what makes this game so good.

It's so good because it's a proper game unlike most of today's trash. No pay to win, no micro transactions, everything is earned in game 🤘🏻 other money grabbing developers need to take note!

I think they did a great job of creating the student NPC's to make it immersive and give you Natural feeling side quest supply. I got so lost on the way to my first class found out there is a gear cap lmao.
