Chipotle worker here, we've had so much controversy Abt this that they actually had to do re training, and now they're like kinda adamant about making sure the portions are right meat is 4oz, Rice 4oz, and beans 4oz as well, queso 2oz, and guac 4oz, any serving you get on the app SHOULD estimate to whatever the customer gets but the managers def do not tell us to use lesser portions lol

I work at chipotle, there will be times where i’ll give people more if they come in vs if they order online for a couple reasons. When people come in, they automatically have the “chipotle gives small portion sizes” idea in their heads, so me giving the normal portion sizes makes them mad and i’d much rather just give more food than i’m supposed to instead of having someone yell at me over meat.
When someone orders online, I don’t have to worry about getting yelled at for giving normal sizes. I have a manager who will really skimp out on portion sizes when it’s an online order, but I try to just give the normal portion sizes.
Another reason I’ll give less on online orders is if the dml station is running low on certain ingredients and there’s a lot of orders. All orders have to be completed in 10 minutes or they’re late, no matter how many items it has.
I’ll also skimp out in person if we’re low on ingredients though, mostly from the hot station since those are the things that actually take time to cook. Salsas can just be brought out from the fridge.
