I live in Florida, so its's not like we were super close but, no matter were you were in the world, Americans (and a lot of others) were in a shocked haze of 24 hour news and wondering what was going to happen next, who was going to be hit next and how. We flew to New York for a wedding that December and I had never been so terrified to fly before. Like the recent pandemic, it jolted us into the way things were before and the way things were after.
