I first heard of Vallee from Diane Pasulka and Dr Hynek from a mutual friend of his and mine. My interest in this subject is as a very close witness to a large craft and I kept it secret for over forty years. Great Interview!
At one time, Dr. Vallée thought UFOs and related phenomena were interdimensional in nature, not extraterrestrial. I suppose he still does. I'd love to know how he would have explained that to 1950s Americans. They could barely wrap their heads around the idea of ETs. Other "dimensions" (realms, universes, whatever) would have blown their little minds.

He has had an amazing life and made great contributions, but my goodness he is such a boring interview. Long winded rambling answers and he just never stops talking. Great interview! But I beat you in meeting him in person back in 3 November in Paris 2023. Dr. Vallee is a living legend in his 90's. He knows a lot more than most "experts". He's been there done that. Sadly, he cannot tell us everything he knows. I wish for him to be around when the whistleblowers crash the secrecy barrier open soon.

why don't the government wanna reaveal the information that UFOs (aliens) are real? If they think the society will freak out, their reasoning is just dumb. If they think it will be harder to rule us, I can understand and that will only make me hate the government more.

Dr. Vallée kind of looks like my late father (they were born one year apart).
There actually was quite a bit of new information in this episode. Matt got more out of Vallee than the previous 5 interviewers combined.
I very strongly suspect that a good deal of criticism is aimed Jacques way, because he fails to entertain them enough. He has been a UFO researcher since his earliest sighting in Nazi occupied France as a child, later he went on to study as an astronomer. He has authored a great many books within the great French intellectual tradition, each of which are noteworthy in marking his shifting notions and suggestions of the phenomenon. The subject presents as a slippery topic, rather than a simple unified whole. Dr Gary Nolan refers to him as one who offers unique insights and viewpoints, which he strongly values.
I think 'Messengers' and 'Passport' are essential reading for everyone interested in this subject. I am disappointed that he is not playing the cautionary role he could and should be playing. I also have to laugh a little at his rationalist term 'control system.' Ha! Say it with me 'God.' There we said it 🙂
For those critical of this interview w/ JV, he is a giant in the field w/ some 60 years of reaserch, please do yourselves a favor and read just 2 of his classics books, 'Dimensions' and 'Passaport To Magonia'.
When I was a kid I really liked the French scientist in Close Encounters because he wasn't as ridged as the military and he respected the vision the aliens were giving the people and how they were touched by a psychic message. I was to young to know who Jacques Vallee is, however that approach is how I try to look at everything, never being committed to one specific answer.
An incredible interview. Jacque Vallee was riveting and like so many in the know put to bed the issue of disclosure. People already know. Probably one of his most interesting answers was about children not lying. This has been proven in the cases of Westall and Ruwa.
