Wasn't on my radar before, but I'd give it a shot.
around How many hours have you clocked in-game?
Shame to hear that a Square Enix game has been getting the criticism of "Demon Slayer" and/or "Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works"; but sometimes we want our pretty art with a mid plot.
From what I can see, the gameplay reminded me a bit of "Infamous" or the more recent Spider-Man titles, but set within a much more expanse world (Shadow of the Colossus, Elder Scrolls, Breath of the Wild)
Does the emptiness feel like they forgot, or ran out of time for, something? Or would the current traversal options be far less fluid if you as a player had to deal with something constantly in those in between spaces?
(Endless cannon fodder is boring unless skill expression in disposing of them actually makes your progression more interesting,
and other large encounters too close to objectives risk getting leashed into encounters which could prove frustrating;
it's something delicate to balance.)
Your review has me interested enough to try the game, however I've now also watched the official trailer which has me confused about who they were trying to market this game to. I wonder if the overly critical reviews are because the masses were hoping for another "Final Fantasy XV" or something….
