Comau launches mobile robots, cobots, and exoskeletons at Automatica

Comau S.p.A. this week launched its MyMR family of autonomous mobile robots, or AMRs. The industrial automation provider debuted the system at Automatica 2025 in Munich, Germany.

“The global debut of MyMR robot family at Automatica underscores our commitment to redefining intralogistics through intelligent, mobile automation,” said Nicole Clement, the chief business unit leader at Comau. “AMRs and AGVs are expected to become one of the fastest-growing segments within industrial automation, reaching a CAGR of 31% through 2027, according to our estimates.”

“By adding this essential automation enabler within our vast product portfolio, Comau now has a complete, integrated ecosystem to help our customers enhance flexibility, safety, and efficiency across the intralogistics value chain,” she said.

Turin, Italy-based Comau engineered the new line to meet the increasing demands of intralogistics across manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and highly automated environments. The company said the MyMR platform addresses key challenges such as labor shortages, material handling inefficiencies, and safety concerns with a modular, scalable, and fully autonomous system.

MyMR line includes three new models

MyMR offers advanced features such as intelligent fleet management, real-time obstacle avoidance, and line integration. This sets it apart from traditional automation systems or manual handling processes, said Comau.

With three distinct models offering payload capabilities of 300, 500, and 1,500 kg (661.3, 1,102.3, and 3306.9 lb.), Comau said its AMRs support a broad range of logistics tasks. This includes anything from production-line supply to warehouse automation and kitting.

The robots’ advanced navigation system allows them to dynamically adapt to layout changes. Comau said this can enhance flexibility and operational uptime without requiring dedicated infrastructure or predetermined trajectories.

Designed to support diversified industries, Comau said MyMR reflects its vision of the mobile, digitally connected factory. The platform enables safe human-machine collaboration, empowering decentralized and agile production flows while ensuring that AMRs and workers operate side by side.

In addition to the three AMR models of the MyMR family, Comau offers standard attachments such as lifters, conveyors, shelving, and other accessories. With these accessories, customers can address a full range of warehouse automation and intralogistics needs, it said.

Furthermore, MyMR robots can be converted from an AMR to an automated guided vehicle (AGV) thanks to its advanced software configuration, explained Comau. This enables additional flexibility and functionality as customers’ needs change.

Comau unveils cobots, exoskeletons

In addition to its new family of AMRs, Comau also unveiled its new MyCo family of collaborative robots. The MyCo lineup features six distinct cobot models with payload capacities ranging from 3 to 15 kg (6.6. to 33 lb.) and reaches between 590 and 1,300 mm (23.2 to 51.1 in.).

The company said it designed the line to meet the growing global demand for versatile, safe, and easy-to-use collaborative automation. It said MyCo is suitable for warehousing, intralogistics, packaging, arc welding, and light assembly.

The cobots’ robust yet lightweight construction supports easy relocation and redeployment, while the IP66 protection ensures reliable performance even in demanding conditions, Comau claimed.

In addition, Comau debuted two exoskeletons at the show. The MATE-XT upper-back exoskeleton and the MATE-XB lower-back exoskeleton. The company said it designed the systems to support the body during bending, lifting, overhead, and repetitive tasks.

Comau has designed and developed automation for 50 years. Its portfolio includes products and systems for vehicle manufacturing, with a strong presence in e-mobility. The company also offers advanced robotics and digital systems, as well as project management and consultancy services.

In April, Comau said it will acquire Automha S.p.A. from Trasma S.r.l. The Italian company has more than 40 years of experience developing automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) to optimize efficiency and reliability across the warehousing and intralogistics industries.
