This actually makes me feel smart wth and it's fun in it's own perspective especially once you get multiple cards and heroes where you can be creative with your Decks and if it works it's a GREAT feeling but i still agree with the down sides
No need to explain game mechanics when your title is "review"…
5:10 minor nitpick: environments are technically their own type of card that just so happen to be playable when tricks are (this is relevant for card effects, as they wont trigger any “when a trick is played” or other effects)
the gameplay in the background pains my heart 💔🥀
I liked the game, the little I played of it. It was a good time
The fact you got shield 🛡️ so wrong is kinda crazy
8:23 if you're just a poor strategist then just say that
you can get superpowers from quazard, thinking cap and bird of paradise
I looooove this game. Been playing it for a while now. I always go back to it. I feel is great, love the battles, I wish there was more!
As a long players of this game, I agree with this completely. Winning games feel like they're more based off luck bc u can ethier get a fair matchup or a completely broken LvL 40 matchup. And unless you have really good cards, you're gonna be struggling as the only way to get them is packs that require consistant everyday constant grinding. The craft system exist but the way u get sparks is obsecure and even then cards are rather expensive.
you should see the hackers in this game. I'd say i either lose in this game because of how paid to win it is, or because the guy was hacking and prevents himself from taking any damage for prevents you from getting the kill shot by doing that same thing. Honestly, this game make me tear my hair out!
It’s unfortunate that the heroes community is saturated by the pvz community. It would do much better with the wider card game community
wasted potential is the best way to describe this game. with how big the moding scene is in the pvz community i hope this game one day will get a mod too
I disagree though it does not fully pay to win like Brawl Stars because you can copy and edit a “budget deck” on YouTube, Reddit, and PvZ Heroes Discord. A good budget deck is viable even to fairly match a high-rarity deck. It depends on the meta and also there is an unlimited gems and ads glitch or setting which takes a long to get more gems to watch ads especially if you do something like watch a movie while you can get gems by pressing ads for gems.
I have seen so much r34 of that flower I swear to god.
Also, as a PvZ Heroes fan, this game is not a pay2win grindfest. You just have to.. actually be good at card games to have fun in the early game. Complete the quests, and you can easily get enough gems to buy packs to get cards. You can easily get legendary cards.
If you hate this genre of games, then why are you making a video on it, you fool? What makes you think your opinion is worth a salt? The game is good, you just don't like it.
Firs time player. After playing plenty of tcgs and mobile cqrd games, i can say that this game really took me by surprise. At first, i was just gonna download the OG PvZ game. But then this game caught my eye. A card game with the PvZ theme? Sign me up. Its a downer that you dont gwt anything for completing all the story missions. The turn wheel is intriguing with the shield charge mechanic is genius. Taken too many damage? No problem, here, have a power up. So good. I've only unlocked the sunflower girl, might switch back to the starter hero. Can't wait to see how the zombos play. They really mjssed the opportunity of making this game physical. That would've done pretty good
You just remind me this game. I use to play hours on my ipod touch ! But progression is now lost. Guess this is why i enjoy marvel snap today
SOME one! Get ON line. I need to finish the "win a multi player match" Quest PLS!
For me, every game is a highlight.
I still actively play heroes fairly often and I adore its gameplay so much I just wish it didn’t get abandoned so quickly
I’ve been playing since the beta even
I've played the game since launch, gotta be one of my favorite games. Due to grinding ranked season rewards for many years, I actually have almost all the cards (just missing a few legendaries), and the game is very fun once you have enough cards to start theory-crafting your own decks. However, since the game is so pay-to-win, I do not recommend this game to others, despite how much I love it. It's only fun because I have the freedom to make whatever deck I want with all the cards, without that, all you can make is just typical pile-of-garbage decks, or copy some existing budget deck that you didn't build yourself. You can't be creative & see results, which is such a shame.
My advice to any new players who wanna play this: Use hacked decks, but only run hacked decks that are actually legitimate. That way you get to play around with all the cards without handing over your money to EA, and without ruining the fun for others
I'm such a sucker for this game. I've played it since mid 2018 and I have to admit that I'm honestly really sad about the lack of updates.
To me heroes is my second favorite in the franchies but to me falls flat as a pancake that they didnt make a physical game for it, it could have been great
5:56 You can actually get superpowers by playing specific cards that conjure them. For zombies, You can play the Thinking Cap card, which is a event-type rarity trick card that costs 4 brains to play. The card allows you to conjure 2 random superpower cards. The card is pretty good because it has a somewhat ok price that can fit into many decks, but decks that contain Zombology Teacher can really help the Thinking Cap card pop off. (The reason that the Thinking Cap card "Pops Off" is because Zombology teacher is a 1-cost card that decreases all zombie trick card costs by 1. This makes in so that the Thinking Cap card costs 1 less, but that isn't all. Superpowers are considered zombie tricks, and while the zombie teacher is on the field, you can play the superpowers for completely free.)
For plants, you can conjure superpowers by playing the Bird of Paradise card. The Bird of Paradise card is a Legendary-Rarity plant card that costs 5 sun to play. The card's ability is that at the start of your turn, conjure a random superpower card. You may think that the card is very powerful, but since that the card costs 5 sun to play, it will be relatively east to get rid of at that point in the game (The Bird of Paradise's stats are 4 damage 5 health.) The reason that this card is rarely used isn't just because it has really bad stats for its price, but because the card is just incredibly hard to obtain. The reason this card is so hard to obtain is because its class is smarty, and it is just kind of hard to get smarty cards in general, let alone a legendary one.
The Eureka card (The Eureka card is Professor Brianstorm's premium legendary zombie signature superpower trick card. Its ability is to conjure 3 random cards. The cards conjured can be any card. And obviously, the Eureka card costs 1 because it is a superpower card) may have a possibility to be able to conjure superpowers, but I have never seen it happen before, so I don't know if you can conjure other superpower cards with it.
Hey @SylviaYSI, the reason that your opponent at about 13:33 had such cards at that time was because 1: Season resets also reset your arena level, while also giving you many packs. And 2: Event cards which you can get 1-2 of each week in the event mode (Frankentaur and Garg throwing imp are both event cards)
no wonder solar flare has kabloom she makes my pants explode
admitting bias will always be better than poorly concealing it and claiming neutrality
gooning to solar flare rn
I played the game when it first got released. I enjoyed the game a lot but maybe because I was a bit younger. I eventually quit the game but picked it up for a second time a few years later and I definitely noticed how the game was a bit grindier. I played Hearthstone and Legends of Runeterra a bit but the turn mechanics in PvZH was the most interesting to me. It was always fun trying to build a deck around several niche cards like the Podfather (I vaguely remember him getting more stats the more Peashooter type plants were on the board).
I’ve found once you push through the game enough that you really start understanding it, and get enough decent cards you can actually good deck and push ultimate league, the game can become much more fun an interesting. But yeah the grind fest is insane in this game, way to much of a barrier of entry.
I enjoy this game ALOT, mainly how the artstyle is great and that the entire premise of plants and zombies as heroes is in itself awesome, but what i hate is the absolute abysmal card balancing, there are moments where i don't even know how i lost only that they had a card that transforms other card on the field into a gargantuar 😭
Personally I have love and hate relationship with hero’s I love how the game looks and feels the music is good not ground breaking by any means the game is simply is a lot of fun to play in my expect how much it sucks to be unlucky at times which brings me to what I hate I don’t even need to mention the micro transactions so I will talk about the other stuff which is English at times because man can you just from rng sometimes and don’t get me wrong it’s how the game is played and I like because how unpredictable because when rng works in your favor it’s one of the best feelings ever but when it doesn’t it’s so unsatisfying to lose due to something that couldn’t be ready but again I’m kinda happy because it makes most matches unpredictable and that’s definitely not a bad thing but idk I just love hero’s a ton
Pvz Heroes is genuinely one of my fav games, but it only gets fun if you hack in the cards…but god damn is it worth it. I love card battlers, (I play yu-gi-oh and LoR) so when I found out about a pvz card game I was hesitant. And when I played it, it was so fucking hard to progress. But when I hacked in the cards, it opened up so many strategies, and props to FryEmUp, prob my most watched youtuber, single-handedly carrying the game.
Respectfully you are a Clash Royale player. 😁
i will definitely say the game gets WAAAY more fun once you start unlocking legendary cards like, well, most of them theyre so broken, and the combos you can do and the decks you can make are incredibly varied. a personal favorite of mine is leap decks, in which you use transformation stations and evolutionary leaps to make smaller zombies into huge zombies overtime, eventually reaching zombot 9000 if you play your cards right.
pvz heroes is honestly quite good for what most people would believe it to be! it's perfect for when you have time to kill or are just in the mood to do a round, as it is a very fun game to play at times. it has super interesting interesting mechanics for a card game, and if you have some of the better cards in the game, it is truly one of the better PvZ games in the whole franchise.
however, it is VERY pay to win, as legendaries are just SO much better than every other card rarity and cost the most sparks out of any to craft. it is nowhere near impossible to win if you play against a p2w player, but it is a lot harder in general. at least it has better f2p than clash royale tho XD
Terrible idea for a game 🤓
Finally! Someone who doesn’t look at a game that doesn’t appeal to them and go “This game does not target me specifically, therefore it’s bad”
Thank you.
Plants vs. Zombies Heroes is a really amazing game. Flawed in too many aspects but still amazing
PvZH's actual gameplay is one of the most genuinely interesting card games I've played, having an asymmetrical multiplayer card game is an idea I've never seen before and in actual combat it does that super great. It's a shame how dog the progression is because I could've seen this game getting real big if it wasn't so hostile to new players.
this game is only good when you grind long enough or you hack gems/sparks/cards in, hacking those in are completely fine (in competitive) as long as you don't do stuff like, 99 brains/sun or something like X40 or more than 4 of a card, when you get everything (or enough to make a deck) this game actually goes pretty hard except for the block meter and most of the rng stuff, molekale, seedling, and conjure are a whole different story though cause they're actually fun to use
New membership tab is kinda cringe. Anyways, I recently got back into this game and it’s been a blast, or should I say, a berry blast?
This is probably tied with modded pvz 2 for my favorite pvz game. Hacking in all the cards is very easy and once you have them all online becomes really really interesting and actually fair on later levels. Its one of those games that is kinda bullshit but in a really fun way. Sad to see that you don't really like this game but I totally understand it. The only thing I don't really agree with is the classes thing and one being a lot better than the other. The synergies that the classes have with eachother is a lot more important and every class and hero has their uses. Otherwise i can completely agree with everything said. Good video!
I love PvZ Heroes, I play it most out of any PvZ game.
As a f2p pvzh player, i have to say… that p2w aspect isn't THAT bad. when i've been playing for around 3-4 months i could already make valid decks, with great synergies. i even recreated legendary conjure-leap. The game is very fun, and has SO much potential. in my opinion, even more than pvz2 at its current state. But PopCap-EA doesn't give a single shit for their games anymore. They're adding more plants to pvz2? Wow! It's another boring plant that's not even a plant (cran jelly f.e.)! Animations? Who needs them? we'll just make it wiggle in a loop! and what about PVZ:H? nothing. literally no updates for ages. even no balance changes! The only thing that keeps it alive – great community. pvzh players stick with it for a huge amount of time because of limitless amount of deck ideas! you can create so much fun synergies and ways to play! It takes a lot of time to get bored by it, if you're dedicated enough. Another thing – FryEmUp. That Canadian man is almost single-handedly keeping this game very much alive. His videos/streams are fun af. Almost all of his viewers one way or another will, were or are playing the game. Cause it's fun! But, very unfortunately, poisoned by its own creators.
Of course, there are people who don't like games like this, Sylvia, for example. And no one can blame them. If they don't see the fun in turn based card games, they will play something else. But if you do, you definitely will like it. If you don't know or never played card games before – try it. Maybe you will like it. And even if you think that this game is not for you – then you should try at least once. If you played it before but forgot about it – return. Maybe it'll be as addicting as before? And, of course, people with huge amounts of money are welcomed in the game by devs themselves. It's EA, after all.
That's all, thanks for reading all that shit.
Gotta be real, i like Heroes (i play it without transactions), just it has that problem that is well… you know. And i have some ideas of how to repair it:
1. Obtaining both cards and heroes via campaign (Seriously, WHY?)
2. I guess… remove some of the ingame transactions? There are just too much of those.
And… that's it. That is all of the ideas
