Watch Kayl work through Penny’s puppy biting in this video: 🛑 STOP Puppy Biting Fast! Everything You NEED To Know
https://youtu.be/fbP0H0VliTY
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos! Your information is working with my puppy
Kayl, lessen to her words. These dogs will grow, what you experience is not for ever. "Look it's starting to work!" It actually goes faster than you think, most people wish there dogs were still a puppy. put the work in and enjoy!
When can they start sleeping with me
I have a 5 1/2 mo old lab puppy and a 7 year old lab. The puppy keeps biting the older lab to play. Biting his ears, feet and just trying to start a fight. the older lab will play sometimes but at other times he dosn't want it to be constantly.
Can you give me a suggestion on how to get him to settle – mostly every eve. Even after our daily walk. He gets so crazy and I need to get him to settle down amd stop attaching the other dog.
I always crate when redirecting doesn’t work. But she tends to come out of the crate hyper any time she comes out of the crate.
My stubborn American pit bull will not stop biting he is 4 months old and when I do the sit and settle he will try to bite my hand that’s on his collar and roll around to get to my hand and his bites hurt but it’s in a form of wanting to play rather then aggression. HELP I DONT WONT HIM TO BE A STEREOTYPE BAD DOG. He’s good at everything else but the biting and separation anxiety.
Yup, I do these methods too with my dog. Still gets a wild hare and has his bite-fests. I wish you'd do a demonstration with a high drive working breed. Labs are easy in comparison to one of these! It's a whole different temperament.
I picked up my 8 week old Vizsla a few days ago. I love her so much but it’s impossible to do any training or fun games with her because all she wants to do is bite my feet and attack my ankles. So I don’t seem to be able to achieve anything with her 😞. She’s only interested in her toys for a few minutes before it’s back to my feet! And teaching basic commands is only possible for about 30 seconds before she gets over it and just wants to bite.
She even nipped at my face today. I want to give her the best start to life but the biting is getting in the way.
What should we do if our puppy growls and continues to try to bite while holding the collar and saying, settle?
I learn so much from your content – THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE!! Do we "not use the food" randomly, or after they seem to understand the command (whether it's settle, sit, stay, etc.) and switch to only using it randomly? At some point, will we not need the food reward at all (for commands they definitely know)?
What do I do since my pup does not like to play at all. I have tried tug, chew, and balls. Nothing… My Beagle just wants to snuggle…
I have a 13 week old, super smart goldendoodle girl. Could not have trained her without all of these videos!!! Thank you Mcann dogs
I love your videos.
I am getting a dachshund puppy at the end of December and I want to work with him from the start.
Any chance you have any videos for smaller dogs and how to modify for them?
Is it OK to let puppy chill out doing their own thing outside of the crate while they're still getting confortable with it? How about outside playing in the leaves not paying attention to me? She likes to do her own thing. And I hope it's not a bad habit that I'm not on her 100% of the time building relationship and training her.
My brother has a year old husky that is literally the worst and he doesn’t give any stern guidance or consistent boundaries and now they are both staying with us and she is making me crazy. I have put so much work into my own dog that i am not mentally capable of being around a dog that hasn’t been trained. It’s driving me nuts and im trying to help him train her, but we all know how huskies are, let alone huskies that have been allowed to be jerks that rule the roost their whole lives. It’s so rough right now :,)
Hiya from UK! I watch all your puppie training videos and love them! We got a now 10 week old catahoula bulldog nancy who we have had for commin up 3 weeks now and she goes to her crate when she wants to chill and knows that's her chill area thanks to your videos 😁 im having trouble getting her to listen to her name and chewing on things she shouldn't and try and redirect to a toy instead and iv tried so hard to play with her using your method of high value toys and not to many toys everywhere but everytime I try and play with her with her tugs and teddy's or redirect she seems to want to go off on her own and play. Any advice would be welcome? She is food motivated but watched your video about using treats and dont want to make that mistake where she thinks she's getting a reward for chewing things she shouldn't. X
Great video! I'm getting a new golden puppy in Dec. Do you have any videos on preventing putting paws on kitchen table and counter surfing when they bigger? Thanks!
Can your methods be used for 3 year old dog
Great video. Thanks for posting. BUT…this YouTube video thing is like a rabbit hole…I start off watching your short video having just put pup in his crate and before I know it, I’ve watched 3 more McCann training videos and achieved nothing else I planned to do while he is sleeping 🙄😆
what treats are best for rewards?
I have a 6 month old staffordshire bull terrier named Penny! This video really hit home. I'm going to try the chill-out puppy plan this afternoon. Do you or anyone at McCann Dogs have experience training bull breeds?
I have a rescued 1 year old golden doodle. We’ve had her just 4 weeks today. She is 60#’s. She did good in crate 1st 2 times. She went in for treat and I closed the door. She was there for about 1 hour. Third time I had an appointment I had to leave quickly. Had already walked her. She only went in crate half way. I nudged her in, gave more treats and left. Hubs got home and found bottom tray out in the middle of the floor, bars on crate bent and one bar broken. We returned it for a heavy duty one. The door is on the side so she can reach every treat going only half way in. I sat in the same room next to the crate literally all day. Smeared a small amount of peanut butter on each bar and gave her treats and praised her when she went in but never shutting the door. By end of day I stopped giving treats and she went in and laid down on her own and went to sleep. I’ve continued to give her treats when she pokes her front half in and have given her a puzzle toy inside. She will still stay halfway in and has not gone back in completely. She went to the door this morning just poking her head in and waited for her treat or puzzle. Not sure what to do next. Is it ever ok to put her in and shut the door? She’s not a small pup anymore. She has severe separation anxiety too.
