Title: allowed adding an additional M.2 SSD to a Mini-ITX build
Review: I used this to add an additional M.2 SSD to a Mini-ITX build. It has the hook to allow the x16 slot’s retaining hook to heep the adapter in place. An M.2 SSD mounted onto the adapter was recognized by the BIOS.

Title: only lasted 8 months
Review: Worked fine for the first 8 months then started having problems. Intermittently not seen by the mobo. Swapped same nvme ssd (WD Black SN850) to different adapter and ran several days. Put the Vantec back in and not recognized at all. Adapter apperas to have died. I do not recommend this product.

Title: Super low-profile.
Review: I used it to put 3rd NVMe SSD into my tiny mini-ITX build in a Morex 557 case. The motherboard already supports 2 NVMe drives, one on the top and one on the bottom.It turned out, there’s enough room in the Morex case to not even need the adapter to be this low-profile, but I’m not complaining.The instruction is a bit confusing, but ultimately all correct.I like how the heatsinking is all on the bottom side of the NVMe drive. That means, for a single-sided NVMe drive, all the chips are still clearly visible. Heatsinking appears to be effective on my 970 PRO drive, which is one of the hotter running drives.
