Customers say
Customers find the SSD mounting bracket works well for installing drives and appreciate its solid metal construction. The product is easy to install and offers good value for money. The fit receives mixed feedback – while some say the drive fits great in the bracket, others note it’s too short for most computers. Customers disagree on whether the bracket includes screws, and the holes alignment is problematic as they don’t line up properly.

Title: Great for a 7,1 iMac upgrade
Review: Corsairs 2.5″ to 3.5″ HDD mount was almost perfection for upgrading my parent’s 2007 Core 2 Duo iMac 7,1 (24″) from a 3.5″ 360GB 7200RPM HDD to a 240GB PNY SSD.What made this bracket better than the others for this upgrade is that the 2.5″ mount is placed at the top of the bracket instead of the center. This is great because in the 7,1 series of iMacs, the Sata power and data cables are very short and just barely reach the factory 3.5″ standard HDD and wouldn’t be able to be connected to a center mounted converter bracket. When you install this bracket in a 7,1 iMac, it’s installed bottom (screw) side up, which means the Sata power and data cable of the 2.5″ drive are on the bottom and the 2.5″ drive is upside down. (Label side of drive facing towards the back of the iMac)The only problem is that the mounting bracket is a little short. (As other have said) – This was okay for me, because the mount is attached with a peg and clamp for installation in the iMac. Only one (out of two) of the pegs could not be attached, but one was enough and SSDs can’t be damaged if it vibrates or moves.Highly recommend upgrading to an SSD if you have a Core 2 Duo computer, it makes a huge difference, even if you’re limited to Sata II.

Title: making it a great versatile bracket
Review: This has become a regular purchase for me as we have been refreshing desktops from plate drives to solid state drives. They have fit perfectly in every form factor of Dell 780 and Dell 990. It comes with two sets of screws each of a different size depending on your need, 2.5” or 3.5”, making it a great versatile bracket. You will want to make sure that your cage allows for this size before ordering but I haven’t had an issue with the fit as some others have mentioned. We have been using them regularly with Samsung EVO 2.5” solid state drives and the holes line up perfectly. I have not used them with anything larger though. The drives go in securely, no wobbling, and no worries about movement. The metal is sturdy and I can’t see a reason for giving less than 5 stars. Corsair is a trusted brand and I have recommended these to my colleagues going through similar upgrades.

Title: i have a corsair case, but…
Review: this came with screws for both the SSD, which fit nicely, and the mounting screws, however the mounting screws do not fit the ONE hole i could use to mount the side of the mounting bracket to the left side of the case–directly behind the black clip in the 2nd picture.however, because i have a corsair case (spec-02, older but stylist) this fit snugly in the bay with no screws. i slid it back as far as possible and it took off the other side of the case to make the two connections. formatted a new ssd in windows and everything was fine.it’s always a gamble with these mounting brackets, even with a supposed “standard” size. even among a single brand it was a gamble i guess i just got lucky i didn’t need the screw to keep the bracket in place. your mileage WILL vary!

Title: Inexpenside and effective mounting solution for hard-drives
Review: I purchased a couple these as “just in case” holders for some random hard-drives. As it turns out, I use them on a very regular basis whenever I am fixing computers. I use a home-built “tech-station” that holds hard-drives as needed for ghosting/cloning operations without having them just laying across my desk. The screws are adequate, but I have some thumbscrews I prefer for easy attaching/removal of the drives. Also, the metal edges are sharp because this is a stamped-steel product. Since I use mine so much, I used to 600-grit sandpaper and rounded the edges to prevent cutting into power, IDE, and SATA cables. A side benefit was these can be used either way- securing a laptop drive or a full size 3.5″ drive. Unfortunately, these do not work with the old Maxtor Bigfoot drives (5 1/4″), but I may be the only person left on the planet using those (for a spare TS server).

Title: Great product with easy installation.
Review: Honestly I’m really not sure why there are so many negative reviews, as this product works perfectly fine. Let me preface with this – I bought a Corsair 750D case, which includes 4 SSD mounting plates along the front left side, but they seemed to fit sort of sloppily, hence my need for this product. It’s very easy, it only took me about 2 minutes to screw in my 2.5″ SSD and slide the bracket into the hard drive tray. This bracket is shorter than a standard hard drive tray, but there is a work around. The top 2 holes fit into the screw-less design of most hard drive trays, while the bottom 2 holes are secured down with screws that go into the hard drive tray.Overall, this was very easy, and the flashy ‘Corsair’ logo adds a nice touch for the aesthetic aspect. I’d definitely recommend this product.

Title: Great bracket to keep your SSD in its place.
Review: I switched the computers at home and my office to Solid State Drives, and the brackets keep my new drives snuggly in its place. The brackets come with small screws for that extra stability for the new drives. By the way the SSD’s are cheaper here on Amazon.

Review: This is very simple – it’s just a bit of bent metal with some screw-holes in it. Screw your laptop-sized 2.5″ SSD or HDD into the holes on the base, then mount the assembled drive and frame into one of the regular-sized 3.5″ hard disk slots in your desktop PC.I like that it’s sturdy, and all the holes align perfectly with the fitting holes in the 2.5″ disk and the 3.5″ bay in a standard computer case.I also like that its design means there’s plenty of airflow to cool your new hard disk, and being metal, the bracket itself acts like a bit of a heatsink. So this bodes well for the stability and longevity of your newly-fitted disk.I think this device will fit the vast majority of computer cases out there, but be careful with any cases that have a weird nonstandard fitment – e.g. if the disks have some sort of “quick release” or screwless mechanism securing them. The bracket locates the 2.5″ SSD’s SATA and power ports approximately where they would be on a full-sized 3.5″ drive, but due to the bracket being shorter than a standard 3.5″ drive, these may not be located as far backwards in the case as for a standard drive. If you connect your drives with conventional SATA ribbon-cables, then this will not be a problem, but if your drives just clip into place with some sort of weird quick-release mechanism, then you may wish to look at a different bracket.Don’t let the above put you off. If your hard drives are secured into your case with small screws and connected to the mainboard by conventional cables, then this will fit. And on the subject of fitment, don’t worry about it. Whilst there are no instructions, it really is pretty obvious and self-explanatory.I actually bought this to replace an overcomplicated drive caddy, which clipped a connector into the SSD and then had its own connector on the outside, so that it resembled a conventional full-size hard disk. Unfortunately, the additional connectors on the other model were flimsy and its more enclosed design caused the SSD to overheat. This simple caddy bypasses both of those problems.
