I’m getting an 8 weeks old hound mix next weekend! This is a really interesting video, I’ve never heard this top before but it makes sense. I have a question: what are your thoughts on greeting the dog on the floor?.. maybe sitting or laying on the ground with the puppy and letting them lick your face?.. is that ok because you are not picking up the dog and kinda communicating that as soon as I stand up my face area is off limits. Or do you think letting your puppy lick your face at all in contributing to future jumping?..
Also my friend has a big 80lb Golden, only about a year old. He doesn’t jump to greet people but he will jump when you are playing with a toy cause he is jumping to try and get the toy (and he is excited of course) I watched your video about the ABC game but that seems more geared towards jumping during greeting. I feel like it would be really hard to play the ABC game while you’re playing with the dog with a toy in your hand. What my friend does now is she will just stop playing with the dog when it starts to jump and she will just walk away and ignore the dog. But he still jumps on the person even has they start to walk away.
