One simple thing you can do right now to improve your next painting is this: Think of ONE sentence that explains what your painting is about.
I notice a lot of students struggle with having a message in their art. When they are asked to talk about it it's like all sound was suddenly sucked out of the classroom.
Don’t make just a picture, we already have enough of those anyway. Put your energy into something you believe is important.
Secondly (and this is silly honestly you could just ignore this part) as I was watching this video I noticed the Ilya Repin’s example actually has leading lines in ALL other 3 rule of thirds intersections.
That's pretty damn masterful.
Anyway I’ve learned cows are much like chunky horses, just less pretentious 🐮💖🐻
You forgot the poop bag.
Thanks for the Spanish audio track, you have my like and gratitude. ❤

Awesome! I just found your stuff on instagram and I’ve been doing composition breakdowns of your work on my own – I am super happy to find out you have a YouTube channel breaking down one of the images I literally just broke down on my own. Happy days 🙂

This was such an insightful collection of tips, thanks a lot! Just curious, how long did this stunning piece take you from start to finish?
I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and I can agree about the ego! That's a lot of dog in a little package.
What app do you use
5:43 what brush is this? It is very nice!
4:15 puppy jumpscare!
No artist's videos have ever helped me as much as yours. Being completely honest here. Your video about horizontal vs. vertical skill growth made me stop searching for "that" thing and instead appreciate my versatility and the differences between each artwork and how much I learn with each one. What you said about checkerboarding in this one made me realize that I often tend to have similar values too close to each other. I don't think you understand how much of a difference your gentle knowledgeable way of teaching makes, especially for those of us who live off of very little and who spent their last money on that ipad or that drawing tablet. Thank you for offering these valuable insights.
Vivi is so beautiful and so chill (while you are holding her lol) Your cow is gorgeous 😊
