Yeah that Irishman movie… It literally just looks like they made a cgi film with digital actors… The faces are so obviously cgi… We aren't there yet, just use make-up…
I really hate "smart hulk"… It implies that the original was "stupid hulk".. he wasn't stupid, he was angry.
The deaging in Irishman is not convincing especially for De Niro. He looked at best a 55 years old with drooping eyes and wrinkles on upper eyelid just to name a few… The effort might be there but it is not success as it is the one distracting the whole time
I really liked The Irishman BUT the De Aging effects looks pretty bad, I know it took a lot of effort but the results were not convicing
I agree that 1917's VFX totally failed, which made the movie look like a high school project…
Love it ♥️🔥
The de-aging VFX in the Irishman is stunning.
The ethical concern of replacing actors with a digital version being nonsensical might have to be rethought lol seeing as Disney had plans to bring back James Dean for the movie “Finding Jack”, although the movie has since been cancelled it’s still good food for thought
The way he says "marvel comic universe" and "smart hulk" tells me he's not exactly a consumer of that particular franchise
Loved this video, Wired
I still don't get how Marvel's de-aging looks so good but Irishman still looks very fake
1917 winning the Oscar was crazy to me
Great experience. thank you !
a great visual effects are the one that non of the viewer even know it exist
The way this was explained…I toddler would understand it 🤌🏽 perfection
though 1917 was a fine film, i think it was less deserving for vfx Oscar among these. heavy weights fought and smart one took advantage. and i don't know why academy members are all the time against ILM. they would award golden compass, 1917, interstellar but not ILM. they did the same to Spielberg not giving him Oscar for ET, to Coppola for Godfather 1, to Orsen Welles for Citizen Kane.
Going to college for 3D animation and this is so inspiring!
The de-aging on Pacino and Pesci was very good. On De Niro it looked very weird.
Evolution of visual effects 1:30
I absolutely loved this video! Please bring him back again
1917 won the VFX Oscar for that year.
Seeing the film that won was by far given the least amount of time during this video is telling about the Academy.
